AMFI Data February 2026: Gold ETF inflows fall 78%; small-cap, midcap, thematic funds rise

Net inflows into Gold Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) declined nearly 78% in February 2026 to ₹5,254.9 crore from ₹24,039.96 crore recorded in January 2026, according to AMFI’s February 2026 data.

While hybrid funds also witnessed a decline in net inflows in February, small-cap, midcap, thematic and large-cap funds in the equity category saw higher inflows in February compared with the previous month.

In February, the net inflows into equity mutual funds was ₹25,977.91 crore, 8% higher than ₹24,028.59 crore recorded in January 2026.

Amid growing discussions about attractive valuations in the small- and mid-cap segments of the stock market, the midcap and small-cap equity mutual funds saw higher net inflows in February. Net inflows into small-cap funds increased from ₹2,942.11 crore in January to ₹3881.06 crore in February, recording a jump of around 32%.

Similarly, net inflows into midcap funds increased by around 26% from ₹3185.47 crore in January to ₹4002.99 crore in February 2026.

Hybrid fund inflows decline

The net inflows into hybrid mutual funds, which include popular schemes such as balanced hybrid funds, arbitrage funds and multi-asset allocation funds, decline from ₹17,356.02 crore in January to ₹11,983.37 crore in February 2026.

  • Net inflows into Balanced Advantage Funds declined from ₹1,678.16 crore in January to ₹1,419.21 crore in February 2026.

  • Net inflows into Arbitrage Funds declined from ₹3,293.30 crore in January to ₹591.85 crore.

  • Net inflows into Multi Asset Allocation Fund declined from ₹10,485.38 crore in January to ₹8,476.26 crore in February 2026.

Index funds also witnessed a massive jump in net inflows from ₹27.30 crore in January 2026 to ₹3,233.44 in February 2026.
