In a communication dated October 7, 2026, the Railway Board clarified that the letter, bearing RBE No. 101/2026 and dated October 6, 2026, was fabricated and had not been issued by the board.

The document, which purportedly carries the forged signature of a Railway Board official, has been circulating widely on social media and messaging platforms, prompting the board to issue a clarification.

“The said letter, which has been issued under the forged signature of the undersigned, is also being widely circulated on social media and through various messaging platforms,” the Railway Board said in its communication.

Railway Board rejects ₹41,149 bonus claim

The board specifically rejected the purported approval of a 78-day bonus and the claim that eligible railway employees would receive ₹41,149 under the order.

“The aforesaid letter is fake/fabricated and has not been issued by the Railway Board,” the communication stated.

It further clarified that the contents of the circulated letter, including the purported sanction of the bonus, were unauthorised.

The Railway Board has directed zonal railways, production units and other concerned offices to disregard the document and ensure that no payment is made on its basis.

“All Zonal Railways, Production Units and other concerned offices are, therefore, advised to disregard the said fake/fabricated letter in its entirety and ensure that no action is taken or payment is made on the basis of the same,” the board said.

Employees told to verify official bonus announcements

The Railway Board has asked railway authorities to circulate the clarification among officers and staff to prevent the fake document from being treated as an official order.

It has also urged employees and railway offices to verify any communication concerning PLB payments through the official Ministry of Railways or Railway Board website before taking action.

“The authenticity of any communication regarding payment of PLB may be verified through the official website of the Ministry of Railways/Railway Board,” the communication said.
