The changes will come into effect in 2026. Let’s take a look at all the changes as per the report.

IDFC Bank revises rewards

Premium cards   Starting from January 18, IDFC cardholders with Ashva and Mayura cards will earn up to 5X reward points on international transactions. The rewards were 10X previously. To earn 10X points on eligible transactions, customers will have to spend at least ₹20,000 per month.

Moreover, making reward rules stricter, if any cardholder misses the minimum payment by the due date, he/she won’t earn reward points for that billing cycle for IDFC Ashva and Mayura cards.

On Club Vistara IDFC FIRST card too, if you miss the minimum amount by the due date, you won’t earn any Maharaja Points during that billing cycle.

Lifetime free cards

IDFC First Bank’s lifetime free cards, Classic, Select and Wealth, will now offer rewards at ₹200 per point, higher from ₹150 per point, bringing the rewards down by 25%. While customers will still earn 10X reward points on monthly spends over ₹20,000, and on their birthday spends, spending below ₹20,000 will attract only 3X reward points now.

Lounge access

From April 2026, only one complimentary domestic airport lounge access every quarter will be offered on the IDFC FIRST Select Credit Card, down from 2 every quarter. Additionally, to unlock the free lounge access, customers must spend at least ₹20,000 in a month to get the benefit in the next month.

Even on the bank’s IDFC FIRST Wealth Credit Card, only one free domestic airport lounge visit and one free international lounge visit will be allowed per quarter, down from two each earlier.

Other changes

On all credit cards, IDFC Bank will offer only 1X reward points on FASTag recharges and railway spends. A 1% surcharge will be applicable on credit card FASTag recharges over ₹10,000 per billing cycle, and a 1% charge on railway spends of over ₹25,000 per cycle.

However, the bank has increased reward points on travel bookings, offering 33% bonus points on hotel bookings and 20% bonus points on flight bookings done through IDFC FIRST Bank Mobile App. For the Ashva card, 1 reward point is worth ₹0.40 on travel redemptions, and for Maurya, it is worth ₹0.50.
