The retirement fund body said its system upgrade is taking longer than expected. Members and employers will be unable to access online services until the migration is completed.

In a post on X, EPFO said the planned database consolidation and software upgrade for its claims processing system is continuing beyond the earlier timeline.

"The process of system upgrade is currently still continuing. EPFO will be opening up member and employer services by 3rd July 2026. Inconvenience caused is regretted," the retirement fund body said.

The latest announcement comes after EPFO had earlier informed users that online claim submission and processing services were expected to resume on July 2 following a maintenance window that began on June 26.

What services are affected?

According to EPFO, members and employers will not be able to log in to the Member Interface and Employer Interface until the migration is completed.

As a result, all online services available through these portals will remain unavailable, including claim-related services and other member and employer transactions.

The organisation said the migration is aimed at improving service delivery, increasing processing efficiency and providing a better user experience through an upgraded claims processing system.

EPFO also apologised for the inconvenience and said the technology upgrade is expected to make its digital services faster, more reliable and more secure once completed.

The maintenance exercise is part of EPFO's efforts to modernise its technology infrastructure and improve the user experience for its over 7 crore members.

With the migration scheduled to conclude on July 2, members are expected to regain access to digital services from July 3. EPFO subscribers who postponed filing claims or downloading their passbooks because of the temporary shutdown can resume these activities once the upgraded platform becomes operational.
