Whether you are planning a short-term deposit or a long-term investment, here’s a handy guide to the latest FD rates offered by the State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Canara Bank, and Bank of Baroda ( BoB).
Punjab National Bank (PNB) FD rates, effective from 1st September 2025, start at 3.00% for 7–14 days and go up to 6.25% for 1-year deposits for the general public. Longer-term deposits up to 10 years fetch rates of up to 6.00%. Senior citizens benefit from higher returns, with rates reaching up to 6.80% for long-term deposits.
Canara Bank, for deposits below Rs 3 crore, offers rates starting at 3.25% for 7–45 days, going up to 6.25% for tenures of 1 year and above for the general public, effective from 7th August 2025. Senior citizens enjoy higher rates, ranging from 3.25% for 7–45 days to 6.75% for deposits above 1 year 3 months.
Bank of Baroda (BOB), for domestic term deposits under Rs 3 crore, has revised its rates effective 12th September 2025. General customers can earn 3.50% for 7–14 days, 6.25% for 1-year deposits, and up to 6.50% for tenures above 1 year. Senior citizens earn higher interest, from 4.00% for the shortest tenures to 7.00% for deposits above 1 year.
