Gold prices after rallying for some days, softened in the retail market. 24 carat gold in the National Capital today (May 8, 2026) was retailing at ₹1,55,530 per 10 gm, dropping by ₹500 per 10 gm. On the previous day, gold prices of the same purity quoted at ₹1,55,830 per 10 gm.

Gold rates at major jewellery brands

As of May 8, 2026, here below are the latest rates across major brands.

Tanishq: 22 carat gold is priced at ₹1,40,400 per 10 gm, while the price of 24 carat gold is ₹1,53,160. Also, 18 carat gold is priced at ₹1,14,870.

Joyalukkas: 22 carat gold is priced at ₹1,39,950 per 10 gm

Kalyan Jewellers: 22 carat gold is priced at ₹1,39,950 per 10 gm, while the price of 24 carat gold is ₹1,52,670. 18 carat gold, meanwhile, is priced at ₹1,14,500 per 10 gm.

Malabar Gold: 22 carat gold is priced for ₹1,39,950 and 24 carat gold is retailing at ₹ 1,52,670 per 10 gm.

India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA's) indicative retail selling rates for gold jewellery are as below:

Fine gold (999): 15,114

22 carat: 14,751

18 carat: 12,242

14 carat: 9749

Factors influencing gold rate today

Gold prices in the futures market continued to rally for the third straight day as investors hope for a potential US-Iran peace deal.

The decline in the dollar index, as well as easing of concerns around inflation and higher-for-longer interest rates also boosted sentiment.

On the US-Iran war front, even though fresh clashes have started between the two nations, US President maintains that the ceasefire is still in effect.

Meanwhile, crude prices have also softened, with brent crude traded with slight gains of over 1% at $101 per barrel.

After hitting the day's high of ₹1,53,103, gold June futures traded with gains of 0.3% or ₹452 at ₹1,52,713 per 10 gm.

Internationally, gold futures traded with tad gains of 0.24% at $4,722.24 per ounce.
