Dow Jones futures were trading 1.2% higher at 53,975 points ahead of the opening bell on Tuesday, August 4, indicating a nearly 800-point higher open when compared to the previous US market close.
The S&P 500 index futures were trading 0.31% higher at 7,652 points ahead of the market open, indicating an over 50-point higher opening on Tuesday’s Wall Street session, as per Investing.com data.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 futures were trading 1.06% higher at 29,196.75 points, indicating a more than 400-point higher opening on Tuesday’s market session, when compared to the previous US stock market close.
The US equity market indices rallied to close at an elevated level after Monday’s trading session as investors focused on the 6% decline in global crude oil prices, cooling bond yields, and a tech stocks rally.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 1.32% higher at 53,178.41 points after the trading session on Monday, compared to 52,485.03 points at the previous US market close, according to MarketWatch data.
The S&P 500 index closed 1.48% higher at 7,600.50 points after Monday’s market session, compared to 7,489.72 points at the previous equity market close, as per the exchange data.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 index surged to close 1.78% higher at 28,776.80 points after the trading session on August 3, compared to 28,272.20 points at the previous stock market close.
Crude oil prices dropped under $80 per barrel during Tuesday’s market session, declining 4.8% on August 4, as investors focused on reports of a draft potential agreement “being circulated” amid no direct talks.
Investing.com data suggests that global benchmark Brent crude oil prices were trading 4.5% lower at $79.92 per bbl during Tuesday’s market session, compared to $83.77 per bbl at the previous commodity market close.
Although crude oil prices have risen 11% in one month, the energy rates have declined 5% in the last five trading sessions in the global market.
