High-precision component manufacturer Fabrinet shares declined around 12% during the pre-market trading session on Tuesday, August 18, as investors focused on the company’s shrinking margins despite a healthy Q1 financial performance.

MarketWatch data showed that Fabrinet share price were trading 12% lower at $526.57 apiece during the pre-market hours on NYSE, in comparison to $598.58 apiece at the previous equity market close.

The company shares ended 4.9% higher at $598.58 apiece after the trading session on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Although the company posted a stronger-than-expected Q4 earnings report on August 17, the investors were looking at the finer print of shrinking margins in the period under review.

How did Fabrinet perform in Q4 earnings?

As per Fabrinet’s official filings, the company’s consolidated revenue from core operations surged 44.6% year-on-year (YoY) to $1,315.8 million in the April to June quarter (Q4) results, in comparison to $909.7 million in the same period a year earlier.

The company’s net income advanced 59.6% YoY to $139.3 million in the June quarter, from $87.2 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, as per the exchange filings.

While the revenue and the profits increased in the Q4 results, the company’s profit margins declined 20 basis points to 12% in the period under review, compared to 12.2% in the same quarter of the previous financial year.

Looking ahead, the company management expects a revenue outlook of $1.405 billion, however investors were also focused on the reduced earnings per share outlook due to seasonal factors.

How have Fabrinet shares performed?

Fabrinet shares have delivered more than 475% returns on their investments in the last five years, and over 82% returns to their investors in the last one-year period, according to NYSE data.

According to the exchange data, the company shares have risen 24% on a year-to-date (YTD) basis in 2026, more than 18% in the last six months, and over 21% gains in the last one-month period.

The company shares were trading 12% higher in the last five market sessions.

While the 52-week high was at $748.89 apiece, the 52-week low level was at $272.49 apiece at the previous US stock market close. The company’s market capitalisation (m-cap) was at $21.45 billion as of the stock market close on Monday, August 17, 2026.
