Market benchmark indices SENSEX and NIFTY slumped on Thursday, taking their downward trend to the third day running amid unabated foreign fund outflows. Intense selling in realty, auto, consumer discretionary and consumer durable stocks also dragged the markets lower. The BSE SENSEX tanked 494.75 points to settle at 81,006.61. The NSE Nifty slumped 0.89 per cent to 24,749.85.

  4. Nestle India Sep quarter profit marginally down to ₹899.49 crore, net sales up 1.3%

    FMCG major Nestle India Ltd on Thursday reported a marginal decline of 0.94% in its net profit at ₹899.49 crore for the quarter that ended September 2024, in which it faced high commodity prices and some of its key brands faced softer consumer demand.

    The company had posted a net profit of ₹908.08 crore in the July-September period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from Nestle India.

  5. JSW Energy's arm inks first hybrid power purchase agreement with GUVNL

    JSW Energy Ltd on Thursday said its arm JSW Renew Energy Seventeen Ltd has signed Power Purchase Agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) for STU-connected 192 MW wind-solar hybrid capacity.

    This agreement marks the company’s first Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a wind-solar hybrid capacity, the company said in a statement to BSE.

    In a regulatory filing Tata Power said it has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Ltd, to acquire ERES-XXXIX Power Transmission Ltd.
