Benchmark indices closed higher on Friday, with NIFTY50 up 1.7% and SENSEX gaining 1292 points. In the NIFTY50 space, 47 stocks were advancing. Shriram Finance, Cipla and Divi's Lab were among the top gainers.

Realty firm Godrej Properties has raised ₹1,275.40 crore through the issue of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on a private placement basis.

In a regulatory filing on Friday, the company said the allotment committee of the board of directors of the company approved the allotment of 93,540 unsecured redeemable NCDs of the face value of ₹1 lakh each, aggregating to ₹935.40 crore.

Piramal Pharma Ltd on Friday reported a narrowing of consolidated net loss at ₹88.64 crore in the first quarter that ended June 30, 2024, on the back of higher sales.

The company had posted a consolidated net loss of ₹98.58 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, Piramal Pharma said in a regulatory filing.

Consolidated revenue from operations in Q1 FY25 stood at ₹1,951.14 crore as compared to ₹1,748.85 crore in the year-ago period, the company added.

Shares of IT services firm Tech Mahindra slumped nearly 6% on Friday after the company's revenues declined by 1.2% during the June quarter.

The stock tanked 5.52% to ₹1,445.50 on the BSE.

At the NSE, it tumbled 5.60 per cent to ₹1,444.25 apiece.

The order entails engineering, design, procurement, erection, testing and commissioning of 500 x 2 (1,000 MWhr) - Standalone BESS plant in Rajasthan, a company statement said.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd on Friday said the US health regulatory has approved its LEQSELVI (deuruxolitinib) drug for the treatment of adults with severe alopecia areata.

The approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) is for LEQSELVI (deuruxolitinib) 8 mg tablets, Sun Pharma said in a regulatory filing.

The GIFT NIFTY is up 0.3%, pointing to a positive start for the Indian equities today. Meanwhile, the other Asian counterparts are also trading in the positive territory. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is up 0.8%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose 0.2%.
