UltraTech Cement board approves 100% acquisition of Wonder WallCare for ₹235 crore

UltraTech Cement on Thursday, April 3, announced that its board of directors approved the 100% acquisition of Wonder WallCare Private Ltd for an enterprise value not exceeding ₹235 crore.

The Aditya Birla Group firm will acquire a 100% equity stake in the wall putty producer, which includes 6.42 crore (or 6,42,40,000) equity shares of ₹10 each, the regulatory filing said.

“Upon completion of the acquisition, the Target (Wonder WallCare Private Ltd) will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company (UltraTech Cement),” it stated.

The cement flagship will complete the transaction within three months via cash consideration, the company further stated.

UltraTech Cement also executed a share purchase agreement (SPA) with Wonder Cement Limited, the parent of the wall putty company and Mr. Kushal Sogani, a 25% stakeholder in the company, the filing said.

The Aditya Birla Group cement subsidiary aims to expand into the white cement and putty business, it stated.

Shares of UltraTech Cement closed in the green at ₹11,606.60 apiece, up 3.16% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

The stock surged 0.84% over four days and 13.64% in March. The scrip gained 1.58% on a year-to-date basis.

The share hit its 52-week high of ₹12,145.35 on December 16, 2024 and a low of ₹9,250 on April 19, 2024.

UltraTech Cement has a total market capitalisation of ₹3.42 lakh crore as of April 3, 2025, on the NSE.
