SUMMARY

Jio Financial Services was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 1.42% to close at ₹310.60. Bharti Airtel (1.35%), HCL Technologies (1.26%), Bajaj Auto (1.23%) and Eicher Motors (1.13%) were also among the gainers.

The Indian equity benchmarks rose for a fourth straight session on Tuesday, October 7, led by gains in the index heavyweights like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, Mahindra & Mahindra and Bajaj Finance. The SENSEX rose as much as 519 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 25,221. The SENSEX ended 136 points higher at 81,927 and NIFTY50 index advanced 31 points to close at 25,108.

NIFTY50 gainers and losers

Jio Financial Services was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 1.42% to close at ₹310.60. Bharti Airtel (1.35%), HCL Technologies (1.26%), Bajaj Auto (1.23%) and Eicher Motors (1.13%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, Tata Motors was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 2.04% to close at ₹698. Axis Bank (-2.04%), Trent (-1.93%), Tata Consumer Products (-1.59%) and Hindalco (-1.25%) were also among the laggards.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 0.47% or 274 points to close 58,289. As many as 61 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended higher while 39 closed lower.   Vodafone Idea was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock rose 9.09% to close at ₹9.24. Indraprastha Gas (5.84%), Bharti Hexacom (5.51%), Torrent Power (3.33%) and Federal Bank (3.01%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, Hitachi Energy was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock fell 3.31% to close at ₹17,601. Coromandel International (-2.66%), Bharat Dynamics (-1.80%), HDFC AMC (-1.80%) and LIC Housing Finance (-1.71%) were also among the losers.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index rose 0.31% or 55 points to close at 17,983. As many as 47 shares ended higher while 53 closed lower.

BLS International Services was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 7.25% to close at ₹355. IRCON International (6.91%), Anant Raj (4.96%), Neuland Labs (3.87%) and Star Health (3.79%) were also among the gainers.

On the contrary, Aegis Vopak Terminals was top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock fell 2.87% to close at ₹272. Shyam Metaliks (-2.8%), Aptus Value Housing Finance (-2.41%), Affle India (-2.37%) and CESC (-2.05%) were also among the losers.
