Top gainers and losers on November 6: Grasim, Hindalco, Adani Enterprises fall over 4.5%; check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks declined for second straight session on Wednesday, November 6, dragged down by losses in ICICI Bank, Eternal, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro and Bharat Electronics. The SENSEX fell as much as 222 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 25,491.55.

The SENSEX ended 148 points lower at 83,311 and NIFTY50 index declined 88 points to close at 25,510.

NIFY50 top gainers and losers

Grasim was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 6.42% to close at ₹2,697 after it reported a 52.4% rise in its net profit to ₹1,498.04 crore for the September quarter of FY26, supported by a higher profitability in the cement and chemical businesses.

The company reported a net profit of ₹982.94 crore for the July-September quarter a year ago, according to a regulatory filing by the holding firm.

Grasim's revenue from operations increased 16.6% to ₹39,899.5 crore in the September quarter of FY26. It was ₹34,222.50 crore in the corresponding quarter a year before.

Hindalco fell 5.39% after Novelis Inc., the wholly-owned arm of the metals flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, on Wednesday said it expects the free cash flow for the current financial year to be negatively impacted by $550-650 million due to a fire incident at its plant in New York in September.

This includes a $100-150 million impact on adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA), according to a regulatory filing.

Adani Enterprises (-4.5%), Power Grid (-3.15%) and Eternal (-2.62%) were also among the losers.

On the flipside, Asian Paints was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 4.64% to close at ₹2,602.10 after Grasim Industries announced that Rakshit Hargave, CEO, Birla Opus Paints, has resigned from the position with effect from November 1, 2025, to pursue career opportunities outside the company.

The filing added that Rakshit Hargave joined the company in November 2021 and has played a significant role at the Birla Opus start-up stage of the decorative paints and the initial scaling up of the business.

Reliance Industries (1.47%), Ultratech Cement (1.04%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.95%) and Wipro (0.9%) were also among the gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index declined 0.95% or 569 points to close at 59,469. As many as 87 shares ended lower while 13 closed lower.

Blue Star was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock fell 6.55% to close at ₹1,792 after the company said room air conditioner segment continued to witness demand slowdown after a subdued monsoon-led Q1FY26, as prolonged rains and lower temperatures impacted secondary sales and delayed channel offtake.

Voltas (-4.44%), Godrej Properties (-4.35%), Concor (-4.24%) and Cochin Shipyard (-3.94%) were also among the laggards.

On the other hand, Astral was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock jumped 7.14% to close at ₹1,572.

Paytm jumped 4.25% after it reported a strong improvement in profitability alongside solid revenue growth.

During the quarter, Paytm's operating revenue rose 24% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹2,061 crore, driven by continued growth in its payments and financial services businesses.

The company reported a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹211 crore, before a one-time charge for full impairment of a ₹190 crore loan to our JV, First Games Technology Pvt Ltd.

Reported PAT stood at ₹21 crore. The result marks a significant improvement from the previous quarter, underscoring Paytm’s progress towards sustainable profitability.

Indus Towers (1.64%), PI Industries (1.54%) and Dabur (1.18%) were also among the gainers.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index dropped 1.39% or 256 points to close at 18,105. As many as 83 shares ended lower while 17 closed higher in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.

Delhivery was top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock fell 10% to close at ₹436 after the company reported a consolidated loss of ₹50.37 crore for the September quarter of the current financial year (Q2 FY26) against a profit of ₹10.20 crore logged in the year-ago period. The company said it reported a loss during the quarter due to Ecom Express integration costs.

BEML (-8.09%), Aegis Vopak Terminals (-6.16%), Shyam Metaliks (-5.62%) and Jyoti CNC (-5.12%) were also among the losers.

On the contrary, Redington was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock surged 14.75% after its net profit in the second quarter of current financial year rose 32% to ₹388 crore from ₹293 crore in the same period last year.

The company's revenue from operations advanced 17% to ₹29,076 crore as against ₹24,896 crore.

Redington's operational performance however witnessed a decline as its EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) also known as operating profit declined 15% to ₹389 crore and its EBITDA margin contracted by 50 basis points to 1.34%.

International Gemmological Institute (9.5%), Manappuram Finance (2.83%), Nuvama Wealth Management (2.68%) and Aarti Industries (1.27%) were also among the gainers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
