Top gainers and losers on November 3: Shriram Finance, Tata Consumer Products, Apollo Hospitals shares rise over 2%, check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks snapped their two-day losing streak on Monday, November 3, led by gains in HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, Mahindra & Mahindra and Eternal. However, the gains were capped owing to selling pressure in shares like Maruti Suzuki, Larsen & Toubro, ITC, Tata Consultancy Services and Reliance Industries.

The SENSEX ended 40 points higher at 83,978 and NIFTY50 index advanced 21 points to close at 25,743.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Shriram Finance was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 6.2% to close at ₹795 after its net profit in September quarter rose 11% to ₹2,307 crore.

Tata Consumer Products ended 2.62% higher at 1,195 after it reported net profit of ₹397 crore in the second quarter of current financial year, marking an upside of 11% from ₹359 crore in the same period last year.

Tata Consumer Products revenue from operations advanced 18% to ₹4,966 crore in July-September period from ₹4,214 crore a year earlier.

The company reported stable operational performance as its EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, And Amortization) also known as operating profit rose 7% to ₹672 crore from ₹626 crore, but its operating profit margin contracted by 130 basis points to 13.5%.

Apollo Hospitals (2%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.89%) and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (1.8%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, Maruti Suzuki was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 3.41% to close at ₹15,634 after the company on November 1, Maruti Suzuki India reported a 7% growth in total sales at 2,20,894 units as compared to 2,06,434 units in the same month last year.

ITC (-1.51%), TCS (-1.26%), Larsen & Toubro (-1.24%) and JSW Steel (-0.92%) were also among the laggards.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 0.77% or 462 points to close at 60,287. As many as 78 shares ended higher while 22 closed lower.

Vodafone Idea was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock rose 9.74% to close at ₹9.58 after the Supreme Court stated that the telecom operator had sought relief on both additional AGR dues and the reassessment of all dues.

According to media reports, the top court had clarified that the government is free to consider granting relief on both the additional AGR dues and the reassessment of existing dues.

Citing sources familiar with the matter, The Economic Times reported that US-based private equity firm Tillman Global Holdings (TGH) is in talks to invest ₹35,000–52,800 crore ($4–6 billion) in Vodafone Idea and take operational control of the cash-strapped, loss-making telecom operator.

Indus Towers advanced 5% following Supreme Court's statement on Vodafone Idea.

Phoenix Mills (4.01%), L&T Finance (3.48%) and PI Industries (3.29%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, Patanjali Foods was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock fell 4.55% to close at ₹575. Premier Energies (-3.13%), Paytm (-2.24%), Swiggy (-2.01%) and Vishal Mega Mart (-1.78%) were also among the losers.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index rose 0.72% or 133 points to close at 18,513. As many as 60 shares ended higher while 40 closed lower.

Wockhardt Pharma was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 8.47% to close at ₹1,390 after it posted a net profit of ₹78 crore in the quarter under review, as against a ₹22 crore loss in the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.

Cholamandalam Financial Holdings (5.09%), Neuland Labs (4.21%), Navin Fluorine (3.98%) and Zen Technologies (3.89%) were also among the gainers.

On the contrary, Zensar Technologies (-5.36%), Reliance Power (-5.23%), Aptus Value Housing Finance (-4.63%), Ramco Cements (-1.96%) and Affle India (-1.74%) were top losers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
