Top gainers and losers on March 18: ICICI Bank, L&T, Shriram Finance rise over 3%; check full list

ICICI Bank was top NIFTY50 gainer, the stock rose 3.35% to close at ₹1,311.50.

The Indian equity benchmarks posted their best single day performance since February 4 on Tuesday, March 18, data from the stock exchanges showed. The 30-share SENSEX rose 1,131.31 points or 1.53% to close at 75,301.26 and NIFTY50 index advanced 325.55 points or 1.45% to settle at 22,834.30.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

ICICI Bank was top NIFTY50 gainer, the stock rose 3.35% to close at ₹1,311.50. Larsen & Toubro (3.07%), Shriram Finance (3%), Mahindra & Mahindra (2.95%) and Tata Motors (2.69%) were also among the top gainers in the NIFTY50 basket of shares.

On the flipside, Bajaj Finserv was top NIFTY50 loser, the stock fell 1.34% to close at ₹1,846 after the company informed exchanges that it plans to buy Allianz's 26% stake in insurance joint venture for ₹24,180 crore.

Tech Mahindra and Bharti Airtel were also among the notable losers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

Mid- and small-cap shares outperformed their larger peers on Tuesday as NIFTY Midcap 100 index advanced 2.18% to close 49,516.90. As many as 92 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended higher while eight shares closed lower.

One97 Communications, the parent of Paytm, was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 basket, the stock rose 7.66% to close at ₹741.65 after the company informed exchanges that its subsidiary Paytm Money got a Certificate of Registration as a research analyst from market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

PB Fintech (7.09%), IREDA (6.54%), Poonawalla Fincorp (5.64%) and Torrent Power (5.28%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, Bharti Hexacom was top NIFTY Midcap 100 loser, the stock dropped 2.46% to close at ₹1,321. MRPL (-2.20%), Mankind Pharma (-0.83%), SRF (-0.74%) and KPIT Technologies (-0.50%) were also among the laggards.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index advanced 2.71% to close at 15,374.70. A total of 91 shares in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 basket ended higher while nine stocks closed lower. Raymond was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 basket of shares, the stock advanced nearly 14% to close at ₹1,403 after the company informed exchanges that its representatives will participating in investor conferences on March 26 and March 27.

Triveni Turbine shares jumped 12.13% on the back of heavy volumes. As many as 9.36 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE as against an average of 1.95 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks. Finolex Cables (9.58%), Welspun Living (9.09%) and Apar Industries (7.58%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, Atul was top NIFTY Smallcap 100 loser, the stock declined 2.18% to close at ₹5,687. Castrol India (-2.08%), Aavas Financiers (-1.98%), Chambal Fertilizers (-1.54%) and Aegis Logistics (-0.67%) were also among the notable losers in NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
