Top gainers and losers on June 6: Shriram Finance surges over 5%; Bajaj Finance, JSW Steel rise over 3.5%; check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks rose for third straight session on Friday, June 6, after investors' sentiment got a boost from Reserve Bank of India's bigger than expected repo rate cut and a surprise cut in cash reserve ratio. The SENSEX rose as much as 858 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 25,030. The RBI’s monetary policy committee decided to cut the repo rate by 50 basis points (bps) against an expectation of a 25-bps cut. In a move to ease banking system liquidity, the RBI also announced a CRR cut by 100 basis points.

The SENSEX ended 747 points higher at 82,189 and NIFTY50 index advanced 252 points to close at 25,003.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Shriram Finance was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 5.46% to close at ₹687 on boost from the RBI's rate cut. Bajaj Finance (4.90%), JSW Steel (3.56%), Axis Bank (3.15%) and Maruti Suzuki (2.78%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, HDC Life (-0.87%), Bharat Electronics (-0.66%), Bharti Airtel (-0.46%) and Sun Pharma (-0.13%) were among the notable losers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 1.21% or 707 points to close at 59,010. As many as 68 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended higher.

IDFC First Bank was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock rose 7% to close at ₹71.50 following RBI's rate decision. Muthoot Finance rose 6.98% after RBI raised loan-to-value (LTV) ratio for lending against gold to 85% for loans under ₹2.5 lakh from the present 75%.

Godrej Properties (6.75%), Oberoi Realty (6.56%) and HDFC AMC (6.38%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, Bharti Hexacom (-3.11%), Sona Comstar (-3.05%), Solar Industries (-2.93%), Bharat Dynamics (-1.87%) and Bank of Maharashtra (-1.22%) were among the losers.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index rose 0.81% or 150 points to close at 18,582. As many as 54 shares in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended lower while 46 closed higher.

Neuland Labs was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 9.84% to close at ₹12,900 on the back of higher than usual volumes. As many as 5.39 lakh shares changed hands as against an average trading volume of 27,659 shares.

RK Forgings (9.76%), Aditya Birla Real Estate (5.73%), Manappuram Finance (5.64%) and Five Star Business Finance (5.54%) were also among the gainers.

On the contrary, Zen Technologies was top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock fell 5% to close at ₹2,083. Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (-4.07%), RailTel (-3.72%), PCBL (-3.14%) and Data Patterns (-3.10%) were also among the losers.
