Top gainers and losers on June 23: Infosys, HCL Tech, L&T fall over 2%; check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks ended sharply lower on Monday, June 23, on the ck of weak global markets after tensions Middle East got escalated as US joined Israel to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities on Sunday. The SENSEX fell as much as 931 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 24,825 dragged down by losses in index heavyweights such as HDFC Bank, Infosys, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra. The SENSEX ended 511 points or 0.62% lower at 81,897 and NIFTY50 index dropped 140 points to close at 24,972.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Infosys was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 2.35% to close at ₹1,584.70 mirroring losses in other IT shares after global consulting and outsourcing giant Accenture narrowed its full-year revenue guidance and reported a decline in new deal bookings.

HCL Technologies (-2.30%), Larsen & Toubro (-2.27%), Hero MotoCorp (-2.10%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (-1.52%) were also among the losers.

On the flipside, Trent (3.57%), Bharat Electronics (3.22%), Hindalco (1.98%), Tata Consumer Products (0.96%) and Bajaj Finance (0.88%) were among the notable gainers in the NIFTY50 index.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index outperformed the NIFTY50 index as it rose 0.36% or 211 points to close at 58,207. As many as 58 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended higher while 43 closed lower.

Polycab India was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock rose 4.14% to close at ₹6,249 after Jefferies came out with a positive view on the stock amid strong growth in cables and wires business and a robust order book, NDTV Profit reported.

NHPC (3.88%), Nykaa (3.52%),Dixon Technologies (3.51%) and Glenmark (3.24%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, Ola Electric fell 5.86% to close at ₹43 after a block deal. As many as 2.41 crore shares, or 0.55% equity of Ola Electric worth ₹107 crore, changed hands in block deals. The equity changed hands at an average of ₹44 per share.

Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands (-4.79%), Astral (-3.79%), OFSS (-2.67%) and Waaree Energies (-2.24%) were also among the losers.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index rose 0.7% or 127 points to close at 18,321. As many as shares in the index ended higher.

Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 6.512% to close at ₹3,502. Poonawalla Fincorp (5.81%), Zen Technologies (5%), Narayana Hrudayalaya (3.90%) and Angel One (3.78%) were also among the gainers.

On the contrary, Dr Lal Pathlabs was top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock fell 3.76% to close at ₹2,802.90 after Amazon India on Sunday announced the launch of Amazon Diagnostics, an at-home service for customers to book lab tests, schedule and track appointments, and access digital reports through the Amazon app.

Welspun Corp (-3.29%), Go Digit (-2.88%), HBL Engineering (-1.98%) and Aditya Birla Real Estate (-1.65%) were also among the laggards.
