Top gainers and losers on July 21: Eternal soars 8%, ICICI, HDFC Bank among other top gainers; check list

The Indian benchmark indices, SENSEX and NIFTY50, closed in the positive territory on Monday, July 21, following buying in blue-chip stocks HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank after their quarterly earnings.

Snapping the two-day falling streak, the 30-share SENSEX climbed 442.61 points or 0.54% to close at 82,200.34. The 50-share NIFTY jumped 122.30 points or 0.49% to 25,090.70.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Eternal led the NIFTY50 pack, surging 7.5%, after it reported a net profit of ₹25 crore in the first quarter of FY26. Its revenue from operations rose 70% YoY to ₹7,167 crore in the quarter under review, compared to ₹4,206 in the year-ago period.

It was followed by ICICI Bank (2.71%), HDFC Bank (2.25%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.69%) and HDFC Life Insurance Company (1.69%), which were among the top gainers.

On the flip side, Reliance Industries lost 3.24%, despite posting a 78% YoY rise in its consolidated net profit to ₹29,994 crore in the June FY26 quarter.

Wipro (-2.27%), IndusInd Bank (-2.19%), Eicher Motors (-1.17%) and HCL Technologies (-1.16%) were among the top losers on Monday.

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Midcap 100 rose 0.62% or 363.85 points to 59,468.35 on July 21, bolstered by gains in Persistent Systems, which increased by 4.35%. It was followed by UPL (4.24%), L&T Finance (4.06%), National Aluminium Company (3.69%) and Aditya Birla Capital (3.01%).

On the contrary, shares of AU Small Finance Bank settled 5.40% lower, leading the losses. It was followed by Union Bank (-2.37%), Bandhan Bank (-2.36%), SRF (-2.10%) and Glenmark Pharma (-1.51%).

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

NSE’s small-cap gauge, the NIFTY Smallcap 100, closed marginally lower (-1.35 points or -0.01%) at 19,117.30. It was pulled down by selling in Newgen Software Technologies (-4.74%), Indian Energy Exchange (-2.83%), Redington (-2.37%), Godfrey Phillips India (-2.07%) and Brainbees Solutions (-2.02%).

On the other hand, Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (2.75%), Navin Fluorine International (2.69%), Zensar Technologies (2.58%), Aadhar Housing Finance (2.42%) and Aegis Logistics (2.27%) were among the top gainers.
