Top gainers and losers on April 15: IndusInd Bank surges 6.67%, Shriram Finance gains 5.17%; check full list

SUMMARY

IndusInd Bank was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index mirroring broad buying interest in banking space after banks cut interest rate following a repo rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) last week. The stock surged 6.67% to close at ₹735.50.

At 12:42 AM, the S&P BSE SENSEX was trading at 76,840.40, up 1,683.14 points, or 2.24%.

The Indian equity benchmarks surged on Tuesday, April 15, reclaiming most of their losses from April 2 on the back of global optimism triggered by tariff rollbacks from the United States. The SENSEX surged as much as 1,750 points to hit an intraday high of 76,907.63, while the NIFTY50 jumped 540 points to touch 23,368.35. The rally came on the back of easing trade tensions and strong buying across key sectors. The SENSEX ended 1,577.63 points higher at 76,734.89 and NIFTY50 index advanced 500 points or 2.19% to close at 23,328.55.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Market breadth in the NIFTY50 index was extremely positive as 49 shares ended higher while only one closed lower. IndusInd Bank was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index mirroring broad buying interest in banking space after banks cut interest rate following a repo rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) last week. The stock surged 6.67% to close at ₹735.50. Shriram Finance (5.17%), Tata Motors (4.61%), Larsen & Toubro (4.59%) and Axis Bank (4.35%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, ITC was the only loser in the NIFTY50 index.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index surged 2.92% or 1,472.95 points to close at 51,974.45. As many as 95 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index closed higher. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock surged 9.06% to close at ₹2,652.90 ahead of record date for second interim dividend payout tomorrow.

IREDA surged 9.05% to close at ₹168.16 ahead of its March quarter earnings announcement.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings rose 7.48% after President Donald Trump on Monday hinted at leniency for automakers trying to shift production to the US, stating they needed “a little bit more time” to transition from sourcing parts from Mexico and Canada, which together account for 30–60% of US vehicle supply. Bharat Forge (7.48%) and Supreme Industries (6.86%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, Max Healthcare was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock fell 1.55% to close at ₹1,072.40. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (-0.63%), Glenmark (-0.36%) and PI Industries (-0.29%) were also among the laggards.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index surged 3.08% or 192 points to close at 16,179.30. As many as 94 shares in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended higher. Data Patterns was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index. The stock rose 11.41% to close at ₹1,874. HFCL (8.83%), Anant Raj (8.37%), KEC (7.70%) and BLS International Services (7.21%) were also among top gainers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.

On the other hand, Atul (-1.89%), Aster DM Healthcare (-1.76%), Bata India (-1.11%) and PNB Housing Finance (-1.07%) were among the notable laggards in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
