Top gainers and losers, May 26: Apollo Hospitals, Wipro fall 2%, Adani Enterprises rises 4%; check list

Top gainers and losers: The Indian benchmark indices, SENSEX and NIFTY50, closed in the negative territory on Tuesday, May 26, amid heightened geopolitical tension in West Asia and the monthly F&O expiry.

The SENSEX tanked by as much as 0.76% to hit an intraday low of 75,909.68. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 touched the day’s low of 23,885.45.

On May 26, the 30-share BSE SENSEX declined by 479.26 points or 0.63% to settle at 76,009.70. The 50-share NIFTY fell by 118 points or 0.49% to end at 23,913.70.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise weighed down the NIFTY50 index, closing 1.65% lower.

It was followed by selling in the shares of Wipro (-1.62%), Bharati Airtel (-1.48%), Trent (-1.42%) and Tata Consultancy Services (-1.16%), which were among the other top losers of the day.

On the other hand, the top gainers included Adani Enterprises (4.33%), Tata Motors PV (3.31%), Tech Mahindra (1.71%), Eternal (1.34%) and Nestle India (1.28%).

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

NSE’s NIFTY midcap gauge, the Midcap 100, ended 0.54% or 332.30 points higher at 62,298.90 on May 26.

The top winners were Adani Total Gas (8.17%), Exide Industries (6.04%), Info Edge (4.64%), KPIT Technologies (4.41%) and JSW Energy (3.75%).

On the flipside, Container Corporation of India (-7.19%), Rail Vikas Nigam (-4.53%), Jubilant Foodworks (-2.21%), Ashok Leyland (-2%) and Mankind Pharma (-1.73%) were among the top laggards.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap 100 closed at 18,267.20, up by 64.50 points or 0.35%.

The top gainers included Afcons Infrastructure (6.70%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (5.99%), HBL Engineering (5.50%), Wockhardt (4.73%) and Tata Technologies (4.47%).

On the contrary, Pine Labs (-4.92%), Sai Life Sciences (-3.19%), Kaynes Technology India (-2.95%), JSW Cement (-2.42%) and Narayana Hrudayalaya (-2.11%) were among the top losers.
