Top gainers and losers, July 23: Adani Ent falls 4%, Nestle down 3%, SBI LIC rises 3%; check list

The SENSEX slumped as much as 0.8% to hit an intraday low of 76,151.98. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 tumbled as much as 0.8% to touch the session’s low of 23,807.20.

On July 23, the SENSEX declined by 363.66 points or 0.47% to close at 76,391.39, while the NIFTY50 fell by 126.65 points or 0.53% to end at 23,869.60.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

The top losers in the NIFTY50 index included Adani Enterprises, which slipped 4.25%.

It was followed by Nestle India (-3.44%), Shriram Finance (-3.06%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (-2.11%) and Grasim Industries (-2.06%), which were among the other top losers on Thursday.

On the other hand, the top gainers included SBI Life Insurance Company (2.89%), Bajaj Auto (2.55%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.72%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.66%) and Tata Consumer Products (1.39%).

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

NSE’s NIFTY Midcap 100 gauge declined by 0.99% or 615.60 points to close at 61,685.00 on July 23.

The index was dragged down by selling in the shares of SRF (-8.53%), IndusInd Bank (-6.06%), GE Vernova T&D India (-2.93%), Tube Investments of India (-2.88%) and Adani Total Gas (-2.82%), which were among the top laggards.

Shares of IndusInd Bank fell, despite reporting a growth of 88% in its standalone net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, as compared to a net profit of ₹533 crore in the previous quarter of financial year 2025-26.

On the flip side, Hero MotoCorp (3.67%), ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company (2.71%), Cochin Shipyard (1.97%), Tata Communications (1.83%) and Oil India (1.65%) were among the top winners.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index fell by 1.01% or 192.90 points to end at 18,936.35.

The top losers of the pack were Anant Raj (-4.92%), Bandhan Bank (-4.26%), Data Patterns (-4.26%), Cohance Lifesciences (-3.86%) and Aarti Industries (-3.66%).

On the contrary, the top gainers included Nuvama Wealth Management (3.27%), Piramal Pharma (1.92%), Whirlpool of India (1.60%), Brainbees Solutions (1.60%) and Credit Access Grameen (1.33%).
