Top gainers and losers: Indian benchmark indices on Thursday, February 5 ended in the red, after closing in the green in the previous two sessions. Ahead of the crucial RBI monetary policy outcome on Friday, NIFTY50 ended 133.20 points or 0.52% down at 25642.80.

Meanwhile, BSE Sensex closed at 83313.93, down 503.76 points or 0.60%. IT stocks continued to remain under selling pressure, as the NIFTY IT index fell by 0.5% on Thursday, dragged by Infosys (-1.2%), TCS (-0.2%) and HCL Tech (-0.7%).

According to exchange data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) bought equities worth ₹29.79 crore on Wednesday, and domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought stocks worth ₹249.54 crore. Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, fell by 1.32% to $68.54 per barrel.

Market participants are now closely tracking the upcoming RBI policy meeting decision and signing of India-US bilateral trade agreement.

India and the US are expected to finalise and sign a joint statement on the first tranche of the trade deal in the next 4-5 days, said Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Top losers on the NIFTY50 index were Hindalco Industries (-3.06%), Eternal (-2.48%), Bharti Airtel (-1.65%), Bharat Electronics (-1.43%) and SBI Life Insurance (-1.17%).

Trent gained 2.98% on Thursday, followed by other top gainers including Max Healthcare Institute (1.22%), Tata Steel (1.13%), JSW Steel (1.04%) and Grasim Industries (0.92%).

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Midcap 100 index fell by 0.28% on Thursday, ending 166.50 points down at 59517.1.

Top losers were Tube Investments of India Limited (-9.86%), Suzlon Energy (-4.04%), Muthoot Finance (-3.49%), Aurobindo Pharma (-2.95%) and Godfrey Phillips India (-2.94%).

In contrast, top gainers on the index were PB Fintech (7.22%), Jubilant Foodworks (5.40%), Nykaa (4.15%), Cummins India (3.90%) and Page Industries (2.92%).

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index fell by 1.29% (221.20 points) on Thursday to end at 16,983.90. Top losers on the index were Redington Limited (-5.74%), Kaynes Technology India (-4.77%), Multi Commodity Exchange of India (-4.65%), Cyient (-4.22%) and Trident (-3.52%).

Top gainers on the index were Devyani International (7.78), Aditya Birla Real Estate (6.25%), Inventurus Knowledge Solutions (5.35%), Whirlpool of India (4.36%) and BLS International Services (3.16%).
