Top gainers and losers, Feb 25: HCL Tech, Bajaj Auto rise 3%, RIL, SBI fall 2%; check full list

Top gainers and losers: The benchmark indices SENSEX and NIFTY50 ended flat on Wednesday, February 25. The markets had surged earlier, with the SENSEX rallying as much as 731.99 points to hit an intraday high of 82,957.91. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 touched the session’s peak of 25,652.60.

On Tuesday, the foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹102.53 crore, while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) purchased equities worth ₹3,161.22 crore on a net basis, according to exchange data.

The SENSEX rose 50.15 points or 0.06% to close flat at 82,276.07, while the NIFTY50 edged higher by 57.85 points or 0.23% to end at 25,482.50.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY50 pack was led by HCL Technologies, which closed 2.74% higher.

Bajaj Auto surged 2.74% and was followed by Tata Steel (2.43%), Shriram Finance (2.19%) and Tata Consultancy Services (2.15%), which were among the other top gainers.

On the contrary, the top losers in the index were Reliance Industries (-1.96%), State Bank of India (-1.96%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (-1.70%), Eternal (-1.54%) and ITC (-1.33%).

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NSE Midcap gauge ended at 59,406.10, marking a 339.75 points or 0.58% jump.

It was supported by gains in Mankind Pharma (5.37%), National Aluminium Company (5.22%), Aurobindo Pharma (4.36%), Hero MotoCorp (4.16%) and KPIT Technologies (4.13%), which were the top winners.

On the flipside, Waaree Energies fell by 10.53%, as the Trump administration has set preliminary duties of 126% on solar imports from India after determining the country "unfairly subsidised manufacturing".

A CNBC-TV18 report noted that Waaree Energies has nearly 29% export exposure.

It was followed by Premier Energies (-5.86%), Godfrey Phillips (-2.62%), AU Small Finance Bank (-2.31%) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (-2.17%), which were among the top laggards.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap index increased by 160.05 points or 0.94% to close at 17,118.70.

Its top gainers included Jindal Saw (6.27%), Laurus Labs (4.52%), Aptus Value Housing Finance India (4.46%), Hindustan Copper (4%) and Aegis Vopak Terminals (3.60%).

Conversely, Firstsource Solutions (-4.26%), Swan Corp (-3.77%), Manappuram Finance (-3.11%), Newgen Software Technologies (-2.71%) and Jupiter Wagons (-2.32%) were among its top losers.
