Top gainers and losers, December 29: Adani Ports, HCL Tech, Power Grid fall over 1.75%, check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks fell for a third straight session on Monday, December 29, dragged down by losses in index heavyweights like Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, HCL Technologies and Tata Consultancy Services. The SENSEX fell as much as 404 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 25,920.

The SENSEX ended 346 points lower at 84,696 and NIFTY50 index declined 100 points to close at 25,942.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Adani Ports was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 2.27% to close at ₹1,453. HCL Technologies (-1.82%), Power Grid (-1.75%), Trent (-1.435) and Adani Enterprises (-1.3%) were also among the losers.

On the flipside, Tata Steel was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 1.88% to close at ₹172.30. Tata Consumer Products (1.59%), Asian Paints (1.04%), Grasim Industries (1%) and Nestle India (0.58%) were also among the gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index declined 0.52% or 313 points to close at 60,001. As many as 74 shares ended lower while 26 closed higher.

RVNL was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock fell 5.43% to close at ₹366.90. Dixon Technologies (-3.63%), Premiere Energies (-2.39%), Waaree Energies (-2.35%) and NHPC (-2.23%) were also among the top losers in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index.

On the other hand, HUDCO (2.65%), NTPC Green (2.15%), HPCL (1.76%), SAIL (1.42%) and AU Small Finance Bank (1.33%) were top gainers in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index dropped 0.72% or 127 points to close at 17,568. As many as 77 shares ended lower while 23 closed higher.

Inventurus Knowledge Solutions was top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock fell 3.8% to settle at ₹1,665. IFCI (-3.73%), Angel One (-3.63%), IRCON (-3.2%) and Anant Raj (-3.18%) were also among the laggards in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.

On the contrary, HBL Engineering (2.95%), Hindustan Copper (2.58%), Welspun Corp (2.12%), Dr Lal Path Labs (2.02%) and Tejas Networks (1.75%) were top gainers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
