Top gainers and losers, Aug 26: Bharti Airtel, Power Grid, Infosys fall 2%, Kotak Bank rises 4%: check list

On August 26, the 30-share BSE SENSEX slumped by 183.16 points or 0.24% to close at 77,472.94. Meanwhile, NIFTY50 declined by 126.80 points or 0.52% to end at 24,207.75.

Both the indices ended Wednesday’s session at their intraday lows.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

The top losers in the index included Bharti Airtel (-2.31%), Power Grid Corporation of India (-2.14%), Infosys (-2.10%), Larsen & Toubro (L&T) (-1.96%) and Nestle India (-1.86%).

On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank (3.76%), Axis Bank (1.62%), JSW Steel (1.57%), UltraTech Cement (1.53%) and HDFC Life Insurance Company (1.15%) were among the day’s top gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

NSE’s NIFTY Midcap 100 gauge declined 0.10% or 61.70 points to close at 64,101.20 on August 26.

The index was dragged down by Tata Communications (-3.29%), Billionbrains Garage Ventures (-3.24%), Jubilant Foodworks (-3.01%), Premier Energies (-2.99%) and Vishal Mega Mart (-2.56%), which were among the top laggards.

On the flip side, the other top winners were Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) (5.59%), GE Vernova T&D India (3.70%), LIC Housing Finance (3.64%), Motilal Oswal Financial Services (2.82%) and NMDC (2.64%).

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index advanced by 0.81% or 160.70 points to end at 20,067.30.

IDBI Bank (7.86%), Capri Global Capital (6.60%), Ola Electric Mobility (5.14%), Data Patterns (India) (5.08%) and Physicswallah (4.41%) were among the top gainers.

Shares of Physicswallah surged after a large trade involving 4,66,98,120 shares worth ₹549.73 crore took place on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

On the contrary, the top losers were Inventurus Knowledge Solutions (-2.56%), Signatureglobal (-2.48%), BLS International (-2.43%), Firstsource Solutions (-1.96%) and Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (-1.95%).
