The Indian equity benchmarks extended losses in noon deals on Wednesday, August 12, as investor sentiment turned negative tracking a surge in crude oil prices. The SENSEX fell as much as 656 points and NIFTY50 index dropped below its important psychological level of 24,300 to hit an intraday low of 24,265 dragged down by losses in index heavyweights like Tata Consultancy Services, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance Industries, Larsen & Toubro and Bharti Airtel.

As of 12:32 pm, the SENSEX declined 603 points to 77,550 and NIFTY50 index fell 188 points to 24,285.

Here are stocks witnessing heavier than usual trading volumes:
Tenneco Clean Air India: Shares of auto components maker fell as much as 4.8% to hit an intraday low of ₹524 after CNBC TV18 reported that a large block deal in the stock,

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 35 times to 5.41 crore shares on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) compared with an average volume of 15.49 lakh shares.

As many as 3.24 crore shares changed hands compared with an average of 1.11 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks on the BSE.

Kalpataru Projects: Shares of the civil construction company rose as much as 9% to hit an intraday high of ₹1,467.85 after the company reported its highest ever consolidated revenue of ₹ 6,408 crore, EBITDA of ₹ 562 crore and profit before tax of ₹ 420 crore in the first quarter of current financial year.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 16.6 times to 26.71 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 1.61 lakh shares.

As many as 1.76 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 18,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Godrej Consumer Products: Shares of the personal care products maker fell as much as 10.32% to hit a fresh 52-week low of ₹913 after the company's CEO Sudhir Sitapati resigned months after the recent reappointment.

As per the letter to the board, CEO Sudhir Sitapati tendered his resignation on August 10, informing the management about the company’s performance during his tenure while saying that his task is now over.

Trading volume in the stock jumped 11.6 times to 1.60 crore shares compared with an average volume of 13.74 lakh shares.

Finolex Cables: Shares of the electrical cables maker rose as much as 13.8% to hit a fresh 52-week high of ₹1,375 after its net profit in June quarter rose 59% to ₹221 crore from ₹139 crore in the same period last year.

The company's revenue from operations advanced 44% to ₹2,013 crore at the end of first quarter of current financial year from ₹1,395 crore in the year-ago period.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 7.3 times to 1.52 crore shares compared with an average volume of 20.79 lakh shares.

PI Industries: Shares of agrochemicals maker dropped as much as 8.4% to hit an intraday low of ₹2,515 after its net profit in April-June period declined 26.51% to ₹341 crore from ₹464 crore a year earlier.

Its revenue from operations declined 10% to ₹1,599 crore from ₹1,769 crore in the year-ago period.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 6.7 times to 10.19 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 1.51 lakh shares.
