Stock market today: Shares of Tejas Networks, a Tata Group company, surged as much as 4.93% to ₹731.90 apiece on the NSE in the early trade on Thursday, June 26, as the company, via its press release, announced a partnership with Rakuten Symphony.

The companies announced a multi-faceted strategic partnership to develop integrated Open RAN solutions and engage in joint go-to-market efforts, both in India and internationally.

Open RAN, or open radio access network, is an ongoing shift in mobile network architectures that enables service providers to use non-proprietary subcomponents from a variety of vendors.

"The companies will collaborate to integrate Rakuten Symphony’s CU and DU software, OSS, and cloud portfolio with Tejas’s extensive, proven 4G/5G radio portfolio and explore opportunities for the deployment and expansion of 4G and 5G networks worldwide, including in India, leveraging commercial and technical synergies, as well as collaborative engagement strategies," the press release added.

Tejas Networks Ltd. designs and manufactures high-performance wireline and wireless networking products for telecommunications service providers, internet service providers, utilities, and defence and government entities in over 75 countries. Tejas Networks Ltd. is a part of the Tata Group, with Panatone Finvest Ltd. (a subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) being the majority shareholder.
