Tata Communications’ board of directors, in its quarterly board meeting on April 22, considered and recommended a final dividend of ₹17.50 per share for the financial year ended 2025-26, according to an exchange filing.
The NSE filings also mentioned that the final dividend issue will be subject to the necessary members' and shareholders' approval in the upcoming AGM.
“The board of directors recommended a final dividend of ₹17.50 per share [175%] (face value of ₹10 each) for the financial year ended March 31, 2026. The dividend, if approved at the ensuing Annual General Meeting, shall be paid to eligible shareholders thereafter,” the company informed the stock exchange on Wednesday.
This means that every eligible shareholder will receive a dividend payment of ₹17.50 per share for every share they own in Tata Communications, up to one day ahead of the pre-determined record date fixed by the company.
So far, the company is yet to announce the record day and the dividend payment schedule for the proposed final dividend issue.
On April 22, Tata Communications recorded a 66% fall in its March quarter new profits for the financial year ending 2025-26 to ₹259 crore, compared to ₹761 crore in the same period a year ago, according to the consolidated financial statements.
The company’s income from core operations rose by 9.4% to ₹6,554.15 crore in the fourth quarter, compared to ₹5,990.35 crore in the same period of the previous financial year, as per the filings.
In the Q4 FY2024-25, the financial statements also showed that the company had recorded a ₹577.79 crore gain from the exceptional item. While the income from the exceptional item for the fourth quarter of FY2025-26 was at ₹20.26 crore.
The company’s earnings per share (EPS) dropped to ₹9.24 apiece in the fourth quarter, compared to ₹26.70 at the previous market close, as per the consolidated statements.
Tata Communications shares closed 0.77% higher at ₹1,525 after Wednesday’s trading session, compared to ₹1,513 at the previous market close, according to NSE data. The company released its Q4 results and dividend update after the market operating hours on April 22.
Shares of Tata Communications delivered more than 35% returns over the last five years, and more than 23% returns in the last three years, according to the exchange data. However, the stock has lost 2.2% in one year.
The company’s stock has lost 15% so far in 2026, but has gained 7.7% in the last one month period. Tata Communications stock was trading 2.2% lower over the last five market sessions as of Wednesday’s close.
