Swiggy appoints Nandita Sinha as Instamart CEO after Amitesh Jha resigns; shares rally 6%

Swiggy shares jumped as much as 6% to touch an intraday high of ₹273 apiece on Tuesday, July 28, after the firm said it appointed Nandita Sinha as Chief Executive Office of Instamart.

Sinha, who was earlier the CEO of Myntra, will be succeeding Amitesh Jha and will be taking charge from August 3, 2026.

She will lead Instamart's next phase, building on the platform's differentiated assortment strategy, growth momentum, improved profitability metrics, customer focus and operational excellence.

In her last role, Nandita led Myntra to become India's largest fashion e-commerce business, continuing to gain market share in a highly competitive market after achieving EBITDA profitability in 2024.

Speaking about her new role, Nandita Sinha, CEO of Instamart, said, “I have long admired what the team at Instamart has built. It's a business with a strong customer-first culture, great talent and significant opportunities ahead. Instamart sits at the heart of how India shops for its everyday needs, and I look forward to working with our colleagues, partners and consumers to shape its next chapter of growth.”

A veteran consumer internet leader with over 20 years of experience, Sinha has built and scaled some of India's consumer businesses across fashion, e-commerce and FMCG, in leadership roles at Flipkart, Britannia and Hindustan Unilever, Swiggy said in a regulatory filing.

Launched in August 2020, Instamart is present in more than 131 cities.

At 1:14 PM, Swiggy shares were trading at ₹267.90 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, rising 3.85%.
