Sterlite Technologies bags ₹2,631 crore order from BSNL for project in J&K, Ladakh

Sterlite Technologies, through its demerged vertical Global Services Business, in a consortium with Dilip Buildcon Limited, bagged an order worth ₹2,631.14 crore from BSNL on Wednesday, June 11.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) awarded the project to the consortium for designing, supplying, constructing, installing, upgrading, operating and maintaining the middle-mile network under BharatNet for the telecom circles in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Sterile Tech said in a regulatory filing.

The pact, valued at ₹2,631.14 crore, including GST, comprises ₹1,620.50 crore for capital expenditure, ₹973.30 crore for operational expenditure of the newly constructed network and ₹38.33 crore for opex for the existing network.

The agreement includes a three-year construction and a ten-year maintenance contract. The maintenance contract is at 5.5% per annum of the capex for the first five years and 6.5% of the capital expenditure for the next five years.

Sterlite Tech March quarter results

The optical fiber cable company reported a contraction in its consolidated net loss to ₹40 crore in the fourth quarter of FY25, compared to a loss of ₹82 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier.

Its revenue from operations stood at ₹1,052 crore, jumping 25% year-on-year (YoY) from ₹843 crore in the March quarter of FY24.

Sterlite Tech stock performance

Shares of Sterlite Tech closed in the green at ₹76.97 apiece, up 1.91% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday. Nevertheless, the company announced the order win after market hours.

The stock has gained 1.91% over the week and 6.99% since the beginning of June. However, the scrip has lost 4.88% since the start of Q1FY26 and 32.82% on a year-to-date basis.

It reached a 52-week low of ₹58.86 on April 24, 2025, and a high of ₹155.05 on July 30, 2024.
