Indian stock market has witnessed a significant fall this year. Benchmark indices like NIFTY50 and SENSEX are down nearly 15% so far in 2026 due to massive foreign investor outflows, a surge in crude oil prices driven by the US-Iran conflict and high US bond yields.

Despite the broader market sell-off, some of the stocks like Sterlite Technologies, Welspun Corp, Cupid Limited, Sigma Advanced Systems, and others have attracted investors and surged between 170% and 882% in 2026.

As seen from the above table, investors are attracted to company-specific growth opportunities even as broader market sentiment remains weak. Here are some key insights from the above table:
Companies operating in niche segments like AI infrastructure, data centres, telecom connectivity, defence electronics and power infrastructure have attracted investor interest.
Growing demand for optical fibre, high-speed connectivity, AI-ready data-centre infrastructure, cloud computing, and GPU-based computing infrastructure has created new order-win opportunities for companies like Sterlite Technologies, HFCL, E2E Networks, and Diamond Power Infrastructure.
Companies like Sterlite Technologies and HFCL saw a 67% and 113% YoY surge in their FY26 order book to ₹7,309 crore and ₹21,206 crore, supported by strong demand for optical fibre cables, telecom infrastructure and export markets. Higher order wins improve these companies' long-term revenue visibility, which has attracted investors to these companies. Sterlite Technologies shares have surged 882%, while HFCL rose 291% so far this year.
Other companies like Welspun Corp stock have also risen 243% YTD, driven by its record order book of ₹45,000 crore globally due to strong demand for steel pipes used in oil and gas pipelines, LNG infrastructure and energy projects. Defence equipment maker Sigma Advanced Systems shares have gained 411% as the company’s order book stood at over ₹9,600 crore as of October 2026, with aerospace accounting for around 75% of the order book.
A large order book provides clear revenue visibility, builds investor confidence and supports the stock price. Investors view a high order book as proof of strong market demand, and such companies often receive re-rating and a higher P/E multiple based on future earnings prospects.
Strong revenue growth, improving margins and a turnaround in financials have also attracted investors to some of these companies. Investors have rewarded companies like Sterlite Technologies, which turned profitable in FY26, reporting net profit of ₹56 crore compared to a net loss of ₹123 crore in FY25. Cupid’s FY26 revenue jumped 95% YoY to ₹358 crore, while net profit rose 165% to ₹108.26 crore.
A similar turnaround was witnessed in Shilpa Medicare, which operates in pharmaceuticals. The company reported strong financial performance as its net profit surged 211% YoY to ₹243 crore in FY26, while consolidated revenue jumped 19% YoY to ₹1,535 crore. Investors turn their heads towards Shilpa Medicare as the company is moving up the complexity ladder from low-margin active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to complex generics, niche formulations and higher-value pharmaceutical products
Aditya Infotech, which manufactures and provides video security and surveillance products under the CP Plus brand, reported strong financial growth. In Q1FY27, consolidated net profit jumped 332% YoY to ₹142 crore, while revenue surged 89% YoY to ₹1,402 crore. Indian government ban on Chinese CCTV hardware has been a big positive for the company’s business, as it led to a surge in CP PLUS's market share to nearly 50% in the domestic market, which was previously dominated by Chinese brands.
Avalon Technologies reported a consolidated 78% YoY jump in net profit to ₹113 crore, while its revenue jumped 46% YoY to ₹1,603 crore. The company’s stock surged 170% YTD amid broader shift towards outsourced electronics manufacturing, supply-chain diversification and higher-value electronic products has created a favourable backdrop for the company.
