Industrial equipment maker Shakti Pumps India shares rallied more than 12% after the opening bell on Thursday, September 10, as investors reacted to the ₹236 crore pump supply order from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd.
NSE data showed that Shakti Pumps shares surged 12.1% to touch an early market high of ₹524.45 apiece on Thursday’s market, in comparison to ₹467.80 apiece at the previous stock market close.
The company’s stock touched its intraday high during the morning market hours, after which it retracted some of its gains, trading 9.43% higher around ₹511.90 apiece during the trading session on September 10.
The trading volumes surged past 6 million during the early hours across both the NSE and BSE combined, triggering the high-volume gains of the stock.
The stock was reacting during Thursday’s market as Shakti Pumps disclosed its order book update after the market operating hours on Wednesday, September 9.
“We would like to inform you that Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has received a Letter of Empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for 10,000 Off-Grid Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) pumps,” the company informed the stock exchanges.
Exchange data showed that this Maharashtra order update of nearly ₹236 crore represents about 27% of Shakti Pumps’ existing April to June quarter FY27 consolidated revenues, indicating future revenue gains in the upcoming quarters.
Shakti Pumps posted consolidated revenue from core operations of ₹858.67 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
As per the deal with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co., Shakti Pumps will supply a total of 10,000 off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems under the state government’s Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana.
The company will design, manufacture, supply, and transport water pumps of 3 horsepower (HP), 5 HP, and 7.5 HP across several locations in Maharashtra.
“The total value of the 10,000 pumps is around ₹235.92 crore,” Shakti Pumps informed the stock exchanges. The ₹235.92 crore order includes the goods and services tax (GST) component.
Shakti Pumps will also take care of the installation, testing and commissioning of the same, and the work order is expected to be executed within 60 days from the date of issuance.
NSE data showed that Shakti Pumps’ stock has delivered more than 333% returns to its investors in the last five years, and over 278% gains on their investment in the last three-year period.
However, the company’s shares have lost more than 36% in the last one-year period and have declined 30% on a year-to-date (YTD) basis so far in 2026.
The exchange data also showed that in the last one month, Shakti Pumps’ shares have gained 1.3% and were trading 9.5% higher in the last five market sessions due to its latest rally.
Shakti Pumps’ stock surged to its 52-week high of ₹915 apiece on September 15, 2025, while the 52-week low was at ₹456.35 apiece on March 30, 2026.
The company’s market capitalisation (m-cap) was at ₹6,237 crore as of the trading session on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
