The Indian equity benchmarks were holding on to gains in noon deals led by buying interest in heavyweights like Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Infosys and Eternal. The SENSEX rose as much as 230 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 24,612.75. As of 12:00 pm, the SENSEX was up 184 points at 80,921 and NIFTY50 index advanced 52 points to 24,595.

Here are buzzing shares in trade on Wednesday:

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail: Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) shares were locked in 10% lower circuit at ₹77.39 on the BSE as reports suggested that Flipkart likely sold shares worth ₹600 crore in trade on Wednesday, June 4.

Trading volumes in ABFRL shares saw a huge spike as 16.20 crore shares changed hands on the National Stock Exchange against an average trading volume of 85.47 lakh shares.

Goldman Sachs is reported to act as the broker to the deal.

Garden Reach Shipbuilders, Mazagon Dock, Cochin Shipyard and other defence shares: PSU shipbuilders' stocks are witnessing strong traction in today’s trading session. Shares of Cochin Shipyard, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders and Garden Reach Shipbuilders rose between 3.2% and 9.9% today. Shipbuilders' stocks have continued the positive momentum witnessed in the defence stocks last month after Operation Sindoor.
Garden Reach Shipbuilders shares have risen over 13% so far in June, touching a 52-week high of ₹3,465.5 apiece today. The recent rise comes after Kolkata-based company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Norway’s Kongsberg to indigenously build the country’s first-ever Polar Research Vessel (PRV).
HDFC Bank: Shares of India's largest private lender, HDFC Bank, rose on Wednesday, June 4, after its subsidiary, HDB Financial Services, received the market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India's (SEBI) nod to float an initial public offering.

The stock climbed 0.77% to ₹1,939.4 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 11:34 am.

Railway shares: Shares of companies associated with Indian Railways like RITES, IRCON, IRFC, RailTel, RVNL and Titagarh Rail Systems rose 3%-11%. These shares were witnessing higher than usual trading volumes. Trading volumes in RailTel Corporation spiked by 3.3 times, trading volumes in RVNL rose by 2.5 times, IRCON shares saw their trading volumes rise by 5 times and trading volumes in RITES shares surged by 2.3 times.
Alkem Labs: Shares of Alkem Labs fell as much as 2.4% to hit an intraday low of ₹4,900 on the National Stocx Exchange. As per reports, the company's promoter Jayanti Sinha likely sold 1.42% stake via a block deal today. The deal is valued at around ₹825 crore.

Trading volumes in Alkem Labs shares spiked as a total of 18.20 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE.
