RVNL bags ₹213 crore order from South Central Railway; check details

PSU Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) on Friday, July 11, said it has bagged an order worth ₹213.22 crore from the South Central Railway in Andhra Pradesh.

The railway PSU received a letter of award (LoA) for designing, supplying, erecting, testing and commissioning of the overhead vehicle (OHE) upgradation from the existing “1X25kV” system to “ 2X25kV”. The company will upgrade the OHE at the feeding system with a feeder and earthing in the Duvvada-Rajahundry and Samalkot-Kakinada port sections in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Furthermore, the work will be done on a total of 195.5 route km (RKM) or 391 track km (TKM), RVNL said in a regulatory filing.

The ₹213.22 crore (or ₹213,22,48,546.62 including taxes) contract will be executed within 24 months (or two years).

RVNL March quarter performance

The construction arm of the Ministry of Railways had reported a 4.06% year-on-year (YoY) fall in its consolidated net profit to ₹459.15 crore for the fourth quarter of FY25, compared to ₹478.56 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier. However, on a sequential basis, RVNL’s profit surged 47.43% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) from ₹311.44 crore.

Its revenue from operations was at ₹6,426.88 crore in the quarter under review, slumping 4.28% YoY from ₹6,714.01 crore in the March quarter of FY24. In the previous quarter, its revenue stood at ₹4,567.38 crore.

Shares of RVNL closed 0.97% higher at ₹380.95 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday. However, the ₹213 crore order was announced after the market closed.

The stock lost 2.49% over the week and 4.04% on a month-to-date basis. The scrip gained 13.03% in the first quarter of FY26 but slipped 9.71% since the beginning of the year.

It reached a 52-week low of ₹305 apiece on April 7, 2025, while hitting a year’s high of ₹647 almost a year ago on July 15, 2024.
