NVIDIA is trending in India as it set foot in the country with strong partnerships with small and major players in the Artificial Intelligence ecosystem. The partnerships were done in different spaces, including infrastructure, software, and Industrial sectors, to build AI factories and sovereign AI models for India. NVIDIA is the world’s biggest chip maker, manufacturing leading chips that are essential for the AI ecosystem.
Not just Nvidia, AI companies like OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini also announced several partnerships and collaborations with Indian IT companies like TCS, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra.
The collaborations come at a time when Indian IT companies are now facing the threat of repricing of their existing business model. The partnerships also come at a time when investors in India were arguing that India was missing the AI trend, which was led by Mega tech companies in the US. Here are the top five Indian companies that partnered with Nvidia on different fronts
The company partnered with Nvidia to build gigawat-scale AI factory, which includes expanding its L&T’s Chennai data centre capacity to 30 MW and building a new 40 MW facility in Mumbai. It integrates L&T’s engineering, infrastructure development and execution with NVIDIA AI infrastructure, including NVIDIA GPUs, CPUs, Networking, NVIDIA-accelerated storage platforms from leading providers, NVIDIA AI Enterprise software stack and reference architectures to enable rapid, secure AI adoption.
E2E Networks is a cloud-focused platform, offering advanced GPUs and an ecosystem of cloud technologies designed for the deployment of AI/ML applications. With Nvidia, the company will be building the NVIDIA Blackwell GPU cluster on its TIR platform, hosted at the L&T Vyoma Centre in Chennai. The TIR cloud compute platform will feature NVIDIA HGX B200 systems and NVIDIA Enterprise software as well as NVIDIA Nemotron open models to supercharge sovereign development across agentic AI, healthcare, finance, manufacturing and agriculture, said the NVIDIA press release on Friday.
Infosys remains one of the key and prominent IT players to partner with Nvidia. The company will collaborate with NVIDIA to accelerate enterprise adoption of AI, combining NVIDIA’s full-stack AI platform with Infosys Topaz’s generative AI frameworks. IT companies like Infosys, Tech Mahindra, TCS and other IT players have seen investor fury after Anthropic’s new AI model is said to make the existing business model obsolete. In the latest investor day presentation, Infosys said the Enterprise AI potential is close to $300 billion, which has relieved investors' worry.
Reliance Industries was the first player from India to partner with NVIDIA to build advance AI model in India. NVIDIA and Reliance Industries announced a collaboration in October 2023 to develop India’s own foundation large language model trained on the nation’s diverse languages and tailored for generative AI applications. To further deepen the partnership between the company, Reliance, will invest $110 billion over the next seven years to build AI and data infrastructure with the help of NVIDIA.
Apart from the tech companies, logistics companies like Delhivery have partnered with NVIDIA to develop digital mapping solutions tailored specifically to Bharat’s complex geography and unique addressing systems. The company aims to leverage NVIDIA accelerated computing, NVIDIA CV-CUDA, and NVIDIA Nemotron open models to design highly accurate, scalable and locally relevant maps to support India’s growing digital economy.
Apart from these, unlisted players like NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India), Zoho, announced collaboration with NVIDIA, along with VC Firms like Peak XV, Accel India and Elevation Capital, will fund 500+ AI startups in partnership with NVIDIA.
