Polycab on Tuesday, June 17, inked an agreement worth ₹6,447.54 crore with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for its Bharat Net middle-mile network in Karnataka, Goa and Puducherry telecom circles.

The cable manufacturer will act as the project implementation agency (PIA) for designing, supplying, constructing, installing, upgrading, operating and maintaining BSNL’s Bharat Net middle-mile networks in the telecom circles of Karnataka, Goa and Puducherry, Polycab said in a statement to the exchanges.

The deal, amounting to ₹6,447.54 crore, comprises capex worth ₹3,741.92 crore and operational expenditures of ₹2,245.15 crore for the constructed network and ₹460.47 crore for the existing network.

The agreement includes three years of construction and ten years of maintenance contracts at 5.5% and 6.5% per annum of the capital expenditure for the first five years and the next five years, respectively.

Polycab Q4 results

Polycab India reported a 33.1% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its consolidated net profit to ₹727 crore in the March FY25 quarter, compared to ₹546 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Its revenue from operations jumped 24.9% YoY to ₹6,986 crore in the quarter under review, as against ₹5,592 crore in Q4FY24.

Stock performance

On Tuesday, shares of Polycab closed at ₹6,041.5 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), declining 1.07%. However, the deal was announced after the market closed.

The stock lost 1.28% over the past week but gained 0.84% since the beginning of June. The scrip has surged 17.36% so far in this quarter but slipped 16.93% on a year-to-date basis.

It hit a 52-week low of ₹4,555 on February 28, 2025, and a high of ₹7,605 on October 15, 2024.
