NIIT, Marksans Pharma, eClerx Services extend gains, rise up to 4% to hit fresh 52-week high; check full list

This is the third consecutive session of gains for the stock.

Shares of IT consulting firm eClerx Services Ltd jumped over 4% on Wednesday to hit their all-time high of ₹3,515.85 apiece on the NSE.

As many as 55 securities hit their 52-week high on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) on Wednesday, November 27, amid a muted day in the markets.

The benchmark equity indices were trading almost flat. As of 11:50 am, the NIFTY 50 index was trading at 24,179.60, down 14.90 points, or 0.06%. Meanwhile, the BSE SENSEX was down 13 points, or 0.02%, to 79,988.

All broader indices, including the Nifty 100, the Nifty Midcap 100 and the Nifty Smallcap 100, were trading in the green with gains up to 0.7%.

Here’s a look at three major stocks that touched their 52-week highs on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

NIIT Ltd (52-week high: ₹225.75)

Shares of NIIT Ltd, a leading skills and talent development corporation, jumped as much as 4.4% on Wednesday to hit a fresh 52-week high of ₹225.75. The stock had closed over 13% higher in the previous session as well. Over the past one month, the stock has gained over 43%, while rallying 91% in the past one year.

The sentiment around NIIT shares had seen a major turnaround when ace investor Ramesh Damani had bought 8 lakh shares, or 0.59% of the company’s total equity, in a block deal in August this year. The deal was done at an average price of ₹127.5 per share. The stock is now up 77% from those levels.

For the last quarter ended September 2024, NIIT Ltd had announced that its revenue stood at ₹90.7 crore, up 10% quarter-on-quarter and 11% year-on-year. Profit after tax (PAT) came in at ₹11.8 crore during the quarter, up 53% q-o-q and 11% year-on-year.

Marksans Pharma Ltd (52-week high: ₹351.50)

Marksans Pharma shares rose as much as 4.1% on Wednesday to hit their 52-week high of ₹351.5. This is the third consecutive session of gains for the stock, a period during which it has gained around 12% cumulatively. Over the past one year, the stock has gained a whopping 142%.

The recent round of rally came after the company secured final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) earlier this week for its Loratadine Tablets. These tablets are recommended for the treatment of allergic rhinitis caused by pollen and upper respiratory tract allergies. They are available for over-the-counter use.

Before that, Marksans Pharma had reported decent earnings for the September 2024 quarter last month. Consolidated net profit grew 16% to ₹96.72 crore, while revenue from operations jumped 21% to ₹641.92 crore in Q2FY25 compared with a year ago.

eClerx Services Ltd (52-week high: ₹3,515.85)

Shares of IT consulting firm eClerx Services jumped over 4% on Wednesday to hit their all-time high of ₹3,515.85 apiece on the NSE. The stock has been rising for the past three days and has gained cumulatively over 7% during this period. Over the past one month, the stock has rallied 28%.

The stock is under investors’ radar after the company reported a strong set of numbers for the second quarter ended September 2024(Q2FY25) last month. Revenue from operations stood at ₹831 crore in Q2 FY25, rising 14.8% YoY and 6.4% QoQ. Its profit after tax (PAT) stood at ₹140 crore in Q2FY25, rising 3.9% YoY and 25.7% QoQ.

New deals during the September quarter also boosted sentiment for the company. New deal wins increased to $28.9 million, up 8.2% compared with the June quarter but down 1.7% from the year-ago period.
