Mphasis bulk deal: Shares of Mphasis, the midcap IT services company, were trading in the green on Wednesday, November 19, after Blackstone, the global investment firm and the promoter of the company, on Tuesday, sold a 9.5% stake in the information technology and consulting company for ₹4,726 crore through an open market transaction.

The stock, when last seen, was trading at ₹2,696.10, up 1.4%.

As per the bulk deal data available with the BSE, US-based Blackstone, through its affiliate BCP Topco IX Pte, offloaded 1.80 crore equity shares in Mphasis, amounting to a 9.46% stake in the IT and consulting firm.

The shares were disposed of at an average price of ₹2,625.59 apiece, taking the transaction value to ₹4,726.06 crore, PTI reported.

After the latest transaction, Blackstone's holding in Mphasis has declined to 30.64% from 40.10%.

Meanwhile, HDFC Mutual Fund (MF), ICICI Prudential MF and Kotak Mahindra MF acquired a total of 70,75,436 or 3.71% stake in Mphasis at the same price.

This took the combined deal value to ₹1,857.30 crore.

Details of other buyers of Mphasis shares could not be ascertained on the exchange.

Mphasis shares dropped 1.10% to close at ₹2,659.70 apiece on the BSE. On the NSE, the stock ended at ₹2,663, down 0.96%.

In June this year, Blackstone divested a 15.08% stake in the company for ₹6,735 crore.

Mphasis Q2 Results

IT solutions provider Mphasis reported a 10.79% increase in consolidated net profit to ₹469 crore for the July-September quarter.

The company had reported a net profit (attributable to equity owners of the company) of ₹423.3 crore in the year-ago period, according to regulatory filings.

The Bengaluru-headquartered company's revenue from operations rose 10.34% to ₹3,901.91 crore in Q2 FY26, as against ₹3,536.14 crore seen in Q2 FY25.

Seen sequentially, profit and revenue rose by 6.18% and 4.53%, respectively.

"Our early, focused investments in AI have positioned Mphasis as a strategic partner for clients navigating their transformation journey. Another strong quarter of total contract value (TCV) wins of USD 528 million is a testimony to our AI-first approach delivering business outcomes across diverse industries," said Nitin Rakesh, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mphasis.

As much as 87% of the deal wins were in new-gen services, the company said.
