SUMMARY

Trading volume in Max Financial Services shares jumped by 9.8 times to 59 lakh shares compare with an average volume of 5.99 lakh shares on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

The Indian equity benchmarks extended losses in noon deals on Thursday, September 24, as investor sentiment was shaken after crude oil moved back above $100 per barrel and 10-year bond yield in the United States touched 5.14%, its highest level since 2007.

The SENSEX dropped as much as 881 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 23,164 on the back of a broad-based selling pressure.

Here are shares spurting amid spike in volumes:
Max Financial Services: Shares of the private sector life insurance company dropped as much as 12.57% to an intraday low of ₹1,360, mirroring losses in other insurance companies after IRDAI proposed changes aimed at banning dark patterns, rationalising insurance distribution costs and recalibrating commission structures.

The proposals triggered a sharp sell-off in insurance distribution platforms such as PB Fintech and Turtlemint, as the proposed changes could have a more direct impact on their distribution economics. In contrast, the impact on insurers is expected to vary depending on their existing cost structures and distribution mix.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 9.8 times to 59 lakh shares compare with an average volume of 5.99 lakh shares on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Vardhman Textiles: Shares of the textile maker advanced 6% to an intraday high of ₹596.20 amid spike in trding activity.

Trading volume jumped by 7.9 times to 17.13 lakh shares compared with its average volume of 2.16 lakh shares on the NSE.

A total of 72,000 shares changed hands on the BSE compared with its two-week average of 13,000 shares.

Caplin Point: Shares of the pharmaceutical company advanced as much as 7.14% to hit a fresh 52-week high of ₹2,990.60 amid spike in volumes.

Trading volume in the stock jumped 6.9 times to 8.94 lakh shares compared with an average volume on 1.3 lakh shares on the NSE.

As many as 51,000 shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 11,000 shares traded daily on the past two weeks.

Canara HSBC Life Insurance: The shares of the life insurer dropped 11% to an intraday low of ₹135, mirroring losses in other insurance companies.

Trading volume on the NSE jumped 6.2 times to 33 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 5.37 lakh shares.

A total of 18.63 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE as against an average of 1.55 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

L&T Finance: Shares of the non-banking finance company dropped 8% to ₹279 amid spin volumes.

Trading volume on the NSE jumped 5.9 times to 2.26 crore shares compared with an average volume of 38.53 lakh shares,
