L&T incorporates new subsidiary to develop green hydrogen projects, check details here

Engineering giant Larsen & Toubro on Friday, April 4, said that it has incorporated a new wholly owned subsidiary L&T Green Energy Kandla Private Limited (LTGEK).

L&T’s wholly owned subsidiary, L&T Energy Green Tech Limited and its nominee shareholder have subscribed to 100% equity shares of LTGEK amounting to ₹1 lakh.

The share capital of ₹1 lakh comprises 10,000 equity shares of ₹10 each, the regulatory filing said.

L&T incorporated LTGEK for the development of green hydrogen and its derivatives projects and to carry out other related activities. Hydrogen produced through the electrolysis of water and powered by renewable energy, which is known as green hydrogen, is considered a clean, flexible and versatile energy carrier that can also help address the tension between energy supply and climate change.

Construction giant L&T had earlier commissioned its first green hydrogen plant in Gujarat.

L&T share performance

Shares of L&T closed in the red at ₹3,260.15 apiece, down 4.68% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday. However, the incorporation announcement was made after the market had closed.

The stock lost 6.65% over the week but gained 10.38% in March. The scrip has slumped 9.63% since the beginning of the year.

The share hit a 52-week low of ₹3,141 on February 28, 2025 and a high of ₹3,963.50 on December 10, 2024.

L&T has a total market capitalisation of ₹4.48 lakh crore as of April 5, 2025, on the NSE.
