L&T Finance shares gain over 5% after retail disbursements surge 62% in March quarter

Shares of L&T Finance, the Larsen & Toubro group's non-banking finance company (NBFC), climbed as much as 5.53% to hit an intraday high of ₹253.65 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday, April 6 after the company informed exchanges about its quarterly business update. On the BSE, L&T Finance shares advanced as much as 5.64% to hit an intraday high of ₹254 amid spike in trading activity.

L&T Finance on Friday said that its retail disbursements surged by 62% to ₹24,080 crore in the fourth quarter of previous financial year (Q4FY26) from ₹14,899 crore in the same period last year. For financial year 2025-26, L&T Finance's retail disbursements surged 39% to ₹83,190 crore.

The company's rural business finance came in at ₹7,200 crore, up 41%, farmer finance advanced 16% to ₹2,035 crore, urban finance gained 61% to ₹9,840 and SME finance rose 20% to ₹1,835.

L&T Finance added that its retail loan book at the end of financial year 2026 was estimated at ₹1,19,500 crore.

The company had posted an approximate 49% YoY growth in its retail disbursements (or retail finance) to an estimated ₹22,690 crore during the third quarter of previous fiscal.

L&T Finance’s disbursement from the rural business stood at ₹6,740 crore for the third quarter of FY26, marking a 46.55% annual jump from ₹4,599 crore in the corresponding quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year.

As of 2:21 pm, L&T Finance shares traded 5.61% higher at ₹253.85, outperforming the NIFTY50 index which was up nearly 1%. The stock was top gainer among the futures and options shares.
