KEI Industries shares soar 8% as Q1 profit jumps 40% YoY, domestic Wires & Cables segment grows 29%

KEI Industries share price: Shares of electrical wires and cables manufacturer KEI Industries soared as much as 7.8% to hit an intraday high of ₹5,414 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday, August 4, after the company reported its earnings for the first quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q1 FY27).

At around 11:02 AM, the stock was trading 6.72% higher at ₹5,360.90 per equity share.

The scrip has advanced 11% in the past week and 2% over the month. On a year-to-date (YTD), it has jumped 19%, as per exchange data.

While the shares hit a 52-week high of ₹5,708 apiece on June 23, 2026, it touched a year’s low of ₹3,712.20 on August 12, 2025.

Q1 results

KEI Industries on Monday evening reported a 40.05% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its consolidated net profit to ₹274.14 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with ₹195.75 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, supported by margin expansion.

According to a regulatory filing, its revenue from operations jumped 22.97% YoY to ₹3,185.34 crore during the quarter, from ₹2,590.32 crore in the June quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q1 FY26), driven by broad-based demand in Wires and Cables and balanced business performance.

At an operational level, its EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation), also known as operating profit, stood at ₹415 crore in the June FY27 quarter, reflecting a 39.57% YoY increase from ₹298 crore in the year-ago period, due to better operating efficiency and a better product mix.

Consequently, the EBITDA margin expanded by 155 basis points (bps) YoY to 13.04% for the reporting quarter, as against 11.49% in Q1 FY26.

The company’s domestic Wires & Cables segment posted a healthy 29.31% YoY growth in the quarter, led by sustained demand and operational improvements.

While export Wires & Cables sales declined by 7.29% YoY in Q1 FY27, the export business is expected to grow substantially due to strong order book position and strengthening demand in key Overseas Markets, the company said.

Its total Wires & Cables sales, including exports, stood at ₹3,092 crore, which contributed 97.08% in Q1 FY27, in contrast to 95.96% in Q1 FY26.
