Jaiprakash Power Ventures shares soar 14% on claim settlement; here’s what investors need to know

Jaiprakash Power Ventures share price: Shares Indian power generation and infrastructure firm Jaiprakash Power Ventures soared as much as 13.7% to hit an intraday high of ₹17.49 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday, September 21, as against Friday’s closing price of ₹15.37 apiece.

This comes as the company and the National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited (NARCL) settled the claims between the two.

At around 12:24 PM, the stock was trading 10.34% higher at ₹16.96 per equity share. The scrip has advanced 6% in the past week but lost 1% over the month. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has fallen 4%

While the shares hit a 52-week high of ₹24.50 apiece on May 29, 2026, they touched a year’s low of ₹13.15 per unit on March 29, 2026.

According to a regulatory filing dated September 21, the company and NARCL agreed to settle the matter/claim, subject to payment of ₹511 croe as “full and final payment and fulfilment of certain other conditions and execution of definitive agreement(s)”.

It added that the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) proceedings shall stand withdrawn once all the conditions of the settlement are fulfilled.

The company had announced the initiation of the IBC proceeding in a regulatory filing dated February 27, 2026.

“The Hon'ble National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) Allahabad Bench at Prayagraj for the initiation of Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) under the provisions of section 7 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, against the Company by National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited, Trustee of NARCL Trust, through its Power of Attorney Holder, India Debt Resolution Company Limited, alleging a default amount of Rs. 511,72,82,207/-plus interest and other charges, in relation to corporate guarantee extended by the Company to Mis Jaiprkash Associates Limited (Under IBC),” it had said.
