HPL Electric & Power on Thursday signed a deal worth ₹370 crore to supply smart meters to leading customers. Shares of HPL Electric closed in the green at ₹387.95, down 5.12% on the NSE on March 13.

The contract is from its regular leading customers and will be executed as per the terms of the purchase order or supply agreement, HPL said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on March 13.
The company did not divulge any further details.
“We are pleased to inform that HPL Electric & Power Limited has won Smart Meters orders worth ₹369.90 Crores (inclusive of tax) from its regular leading Customers for the supply of smart meters in the normal course of business, which is to be executed as per the terms & conditions of Purchase Order/Supply Agreement,” it said.
HPL Electric’s net profit jumped 51.51% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹18.08 crore in the third quarter of the 2024-25 financial year (Q3FY25), compared to ₹11.94 crore in the same period last year.
Its revenue from operations stood at ₹392.48 crore in Q3FY25, surging 7.36% YoY from ₹365.57 crore in the third quarter of the 2023-24 fiscal year (Q3FY24).
Shares of HPL Electric closed in the green at ₹387.95, down 5.12% on the NSE on Thursday.
The stock lost 4.06% over the week but gained 8.28% since the beginning of March. The scrip has fallen 28.62% on a year-to-date basis.

HPL Electric & Power Ltd is an Indian electric equipment manufacturing company, which has been in business for four decades.
