Hindustan Zinc said its mined metal production for Q2 FY27 grew 5% YoY to 271 kilotonnes (KT), up from 258 KT in the same period last year, driven by higher ore production.

Vedanta Power Ltd on Saturday said that its power sales rose by 26% YoY to 5,593 MU in the second quarter of the current fiscal.
The companies, including Vedanta Ltd, Hindustan Zinc, Vedanta Power, Vedanta Iron and Steel, Vedanta Aluminum Metals, and Vedanta Oil and Gas, posted their business updates for the quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2 FY27).
The world’s largest integrated zinc producer said that its mined metal production for Q2 FY27 grew 5% YoY to 271 kilotonnes (KT), compared with 258 KT in the same period last year, bolstered by higher ore production, according to a regulatory filing.
Its refined metal production surged 7% YoY to 264 KT during the quarter under review, as against 246 KT in the July-September quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q2 FY26), driven by additional capacity unlocked from debottlenecking projects at Chanderiya & Dariba and 160 ktpa roaster at Debari and in line with plant availability.
The company’s saleable silver production stood at 173 metric tonnes in Q2 FY27, marking a 20% YoY rise, in line with production plan.
Its wind power generation increased 17% YoY to 155 million units (MU) in the second quarter of FY27 (Q2 FY27) from 132 MU in the year-ago period, in line with its wind velocity and weather pattern.
Vedanta Power Ltd on Saturday said that its power sales rose by 26% YoY to 5,593 MU in the second quarter of the current fiscal.
The company's power sales stood at 4,433 MU in the second quarter of the previous fiscal.
It recorded 10,817 MU of power sales in the first half of the current fiscal, registering a 32% YoY growth, as stronger plant performance and improved availability across its portfolio drove robust momentum, Vedanta Power said in a statement.
The growth was driven by a sharp increase in generation at Meenakshi Energy and a turnaround at Jharsuguda Thermal Plant.
At Meenakshi Energy, power sales increased 111% YoY to 1,470 MU in Q2, taking the overall sales in the first half of the fiscal year to 2,820 million units, up 160% YoY.
The performance reflects operations of the expanded 1,000-MW capacity base, strengthening the plant's contribution to the company's overall generation portfolio.
The company saw the production of its saleable ore fall 13% YoY to 5.2 million dry metric tonnes (Mn DMT) in the July-September quarter of FY27, compared with 1.75 Mn DMT in the same period last year.
However, its steel saleable production and hot metal production increase by 4% YoY and 3% YoY, respectively, it said in a regulatory filing.
Its production at Goa mines jumped by 22% YoY, driven by the ramp-up of mining operations and enhanced processing capacity.
The production at Karnataka mines declined 49% YoY, however, it was aligned with the company’s revised estimates and was in accordance with the updated mine plan.
Its saleable ore production in Odisha mines recorded consistent growth of 34% YoY, supported by higher operational efficiency.
Vedanta Aluminium Metal reported its highest-ever quarterly and half-yearly aluminium production at 649 KT and 1,281 KT, respectively, with new smelter volume supported by efficiency of existing lines.
Furthermore, its alumina production jumped 37% YoY to 895 KTT during the quarter under review, as against 653 KT in Q2 FY26, reflecting the ramp-up and stabilization of the expansion circuit, it stated.
The firm posted a 19% YoY drop in its average daily gross operated production to 72.2 thousands of barrels of oil equivalent per day (kboepd) in the September quarter of FY27, from 89.1 kboepd in the year-ago period.
Additionally. its average daily working interest production declined 18% YoY to 47.8 kboepd for the reporting quarter.
