Shares of India’s largest defence contractor company, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, traded in green on Friday morning amid a weak broader market. The company’s shares were in focus after the company secured contracts for 10 helicopte₹from domestic flyer Pawan Hans. The shares traded 0.3% higher at Rs.4,616 apiece on the NSE at 11:27 am.

Hindustan Aeronautics has signed contracts at Hyderabad with Pawan Hans for the supply of 10 Dhruv NG Helicopte₹along with associated spares, accessories, etc., at a value exceeding ₹1800 crore. The supply of the above-mentioned order is to be completed by 2027.

Earlier in September, the company secured an order worth ₹67,370 crore from the Indian Air Force for the supply of 97 Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk-1A, also known as Tejas aircraft. The delivery of these aircraft would commence during 2027-28 and be completed over a period of six years.

The shares were in focus in November after the home-built Tejas Aircraft crashed in Dubai Air Show last year. The company holds orderbook crossed ₹2 lakh crore mark in the previous year and expects another Rs. 1 lakh crore order wins in the coming years.

The shares have delivered strong performance in 2025 by delivering 22% returns vs 9% returns by the NIFTY50 in the same period.

Hindustan Aeronautics is a Bengaluru-based Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSU) Company engaged in the design, development, manufacture, repair, overhaul, upgrade and servicing of a wide range of products including aircraft, helicopters, aero-engines, avionics, accessories and aerospace structures.
