Hero Motocorp drops over 2% after total sales decline 5% YoY in July
In its business update for the month of July filed with the stock exchanges on Thursday, Hero MotoCorp reported a 5.37% decline in its total sales to 3,70,274 units compared to 3,91,310 units in July 2023. In FY25, the company’s year-to-date (YTD) total sales (April-July) increased by more than 9% to 19,05,430 units compared to 17,43,884 units in the same period of the preceding fiscal.
In its international business, the company witnessed a positive trend and achieved its highest monthly global dispatches this year in July 2024.
The automotive manufacturer’s exports increased by 13% YoY to 22,739 units in July compared to 20,106 units in the year-ago period. The company’s exports also surged 33% to 73,733 units in April-July period of FY25 from 55,430 units in the corresponding period of FY24.
The domestic sales of Hero MotoCorp declined by 6% to 3,47,535 units in July 2024 against 3,71,204 units in July 2023. The company’s domestic sales for YTD FY25 grew by over 8% to 18,31,697 units compared to 16,88,454 units in the year-ago period. While the company plans to increase its dispatches ahead of the festive season, sales dropped due to supply-chain constraints and logistics disruptions, as per the release.
Hero MotoCorp’s scooter sales fell nearly 3% YoY to 29,884 units in July 2024 against 30,718 units in July 2023. The two wheeler manufacturer’s YTD FY25 sales grew nearly 3% to 1,24,084 units from 1,20,652 units in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.
The two wheeler manufacturer’s motorcycle sales fell by over 5% to 3,40,390 units in the month of July in 2024 from 3,60,592 units in July 2023. The company’s motorcycle sales increased nearly 10% in first four months of FY25 to 17,81,346 units compared to 16,23,232 units in April –July FY24.
Hero Motocorp shares are trading 1.87% lower at ₹5,271 apiece on the NSE at 3:00 pm.
