HDFC Bank share price rises as gross advances rise 5.4% YoY to ₹26.43 lakh crore

HDFC Bank share price: Shares of HDFC Bank climbed on Friday, April 4, after India's largest private sector lender released its latest business update.

The stock advanced 1.62% to ₹1,823.85 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 9:20 am.

The bank's period-end advances under management stood at ₹27.73 lakh crore as of March 31, 2024, reflecting a growth of 7.7% from ₹25.75 lakh crore as of March 31, 2024.

Its period-end gross advances were ₹26.43 lakh crore as of March 31, 2025, a growth of around 5.4% over ₹25.07 lakh crore as of March 31, 2024.

The private lender's period-end average deposits rose 14.1% to ₹27.14 lakh crore as of March 2025, compared to ₹25.63 lakh crore in the same period a year ago. Sequentially, it climbed 5.9%.

The period-end current account and savings account (CASA) deposits were reported at ₹9.44 lakh crore, up 3.9% year-on-year (YoY) and 8.2% sequentially.

The average CASA deposits were ₹82.28 lakh crore for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024-25, registering a growth of 5.7% over ₹7.84 lakh crore in the year-ago quarter. Quarter-on-quarter, it advanced 1.4%.

"The bank’s period-end time deposits were ₹17.7 lakh crore as of March 31, 2025, a growth of around 20.3% over ₹14.71 lakh crore as of March 31, 2024, and a growth of around 4.7% over ₹16.91 lakh crore as of December 31, 2024," the company said in an exchange filing.

In the third quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25, HDFC Bank posted a 2.2% growth in its standalone profit after tax to ₹16,736 crore, compared to ₹16,372.54 crore in the December quarter of the previous fiscal.

Net interest income (NII) expanded 7.6% to ₹30,655 crore in Q3 FY25, as against ₹28,871.3 crore in the same period last year.

The reporting quarter's interest income ascended 7.6% to ₹76,006 crore, as against ₹70,582 crore. The interest expenses also grew by 7.7% to ₹45,353 crore.
