GRSE shares jump 5% intraday on THIS update; stock has zoomed 81% in a month

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers shares soared over 5% to touch an intraday high of ₹3,418 per share during the opening session on Monday, June 9, after the company entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sweden’s Berg Propulsion.

The MoU includes manufacturing and supply of marine propulsion systems. The collaboration will leverage the combined capabilities and technical know-how of both organisations in manufacturing propulsion-related equipment and systems, with a particular focus on ongoing and future governmental projects.

“This MoU marks a strategic step towards enhancing GRSE’s portfolio in the marine equipment market,” the firm said in a statement to the exchanges.

Last seen, shares of GRSE were trading at ₹3,280.50 apiece, rising 0.87% on the National Stock Exchange.

GRSE on June 6, 2025, had also signed another MoU with SunStone, Denmark, a leading provider of expedition cruise vessels. “This MoU sets the stage for future collaboration in the areas of expedition cruise vessels,” it had said.

Share price updates

Over the last five trading days, GRSE shares gained almost 6%, while for a month’s period, the stock soared 81%.

Since December 9, 2024, which is six months, shares of the firm have jumped almost 85%.

Year-to-date, GRSE shares have zoomed over 96%.

The company’s market capitalisation stands at ₹37,402.37 crore.

Shares of the firm had touched its one-year high of ₹3,532.20 apiece on June 5, 2025, while its 52-week low of ₹1,184.90 was hit on March 3, 2025.

March quarter earnings

India’s leading warship builder, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers, reported a 69% jump in revenue from operations to ₹1,016 crore in the March quarter of FY24 against ₹601 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.

The Defence Ministry PSU’s EBITDA jumped 84% YoY to ₹166 crore in Q4 of FY24 against ₹ 90 crore in the year-ago period, according to a company release.

Profit after tax (PAT) rose by 104% to ₹112 crore in the March quarter of FY24 compared to ₹55 crore in the March quarter of FY23.

For the full fiscal FY24, revenue from operations jumped by 40% to ₹3,593 crore in FY24 from ₹2,561 crore in FY23.

The company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were at ₹534 crore in FY24, up 52% compared to ₹351 crore in FY23.

Profit after tax jumped by 57% to ₹357 crore in FY24 against ₹228 crore in FY23.
