GPT Infraprojects stock trade ex-bonus today, check details

Shares of leading infrastructure player GPT Infraprojects Ltd, the flagship company of the GPT Group, are trading ex-bonus today, July 3.

The ex-bonus date refers to the day on which a stock starts trading by assuming that the bonus shares have already been distributed. In other words, the stock price starts reflecting the effect of the announced bonus issue.

GPT Infraprojects announced a 1:1 bonus share issuance when it released its March quarter results in May. This meant that existing shareholders were supposed to receive one bonus share in their demat accounts for each share they held in the company. The company fixed July 3 as the record date for determining shareholders' eligibility for the bonus issue.

On Wednesday, the GPT Infraprojects stock jumped as much as 4% after the stock started trading ex-bonus. The share price hit a record high of ₹150 apiece on the NSE. On Tuesday, before the bonus issue adjustment, the stock closed at ₹288.35 apiece.

GPT Infraprojects shares have witnessed some positive momentum lately after it secured an order worth ₹547 crore from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. The company said that it would be involved in the construction of a six-lane elevated Kona expressway in West Bengal in engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) mode.

The company is also in focus as its Board of Directors are set to consider fund-raising options in a meeting scheduled on July 5.

In a filing to the stock exchanges, the company said that the Board is likely to consider a proposal to raise funds through equity shares or other securities through preferential issues, qualified institutional placement, rights issues, or any other permissible mode or a combination thereof.

GPT Infraprojects shares were trading 0.49% higher at ₹144.9 apiece on the NSE at 1:45 pm.
